Mugen Air Cleaner & Box

King Motorspots has a Mugen Air Cleaner and box for $980. Does anyone have information about this thing, is it really worth $980 dollars? It looks pretty cool, but is it just an air box replacement, or is it a CAI or Short Ram.

Thx in advance

same theory as an comptech icebox. Filter enclosed in a box with a funnel to cold outside air.

Then why does it cost $980? Is the funnel Gold plated?

no, even better. it plated with "MUGEN" logo. if it makes anyone feel better, it is built with carbon fibre(at least from the look of it).

to me, mugen is the better version of comptech. they dont make the biggest performance gain, but focusing on the overall balance.

This is a old thread, but I'd rather revive then repost.

So Anyone buy this thing yet or find a dyno? I don't know how they plan on making money if no one dropped near $1000 on a damn airbox.

man. why produce a product that has 0% interest? Talk about money down the drain. There must be people buy that in Japan.

Some people are willing to pay good money for the name, regardless how well the products work.

i haven't seen any real reason to get a mugen performance part. the coilovers are overpriced and no dynos b/c everything comes through kingmotorsports. i like their grill though

eviljohn owns one but I know he didn't spend anywhere near $1000. The quality is top notch and it sounds like the OEM intake but just a little louder. My ride wasn't long enough to gauge any performance gains.

how did i miss this thread? must've been too busy during holidays.

get back on topic, the intake is top notch quality. But only buy it if you are going for a TSX thats got every thing mugen makes.

performance wise, most of the gain is Psychological (wink, wink).

just like JeffTSX said, Mugen is JDM,
