m/t tsx rpm at 60mph?

what is your rpm at at 60mph? I am contemplating on wheter I should change my final drive for the tsx final drive or if I should leave it and change just the 2.3.4and5th gears?

I am gonna change the gears just not sure on if I should take the final drive with it.

My RPM is about 7,500...in second...Thanks Hondata! Not sure what the RPM is at 60 in sixth gear, but it is definately lower than 3,000 RPM. I know that when I am going 70 MPH in sixth my RPM is right at 3,000 RPM.

3k in 6th is about 70 mph so I'm guessing around 2500 rpm.

You should absolutely get the 4.7 FD. My 6th (still stock) is around 2800 RPM.

^^^No not the parking lot. but at the end of our parking lot driveway there's a 1.5 mile frontage road. Though our perimeter road around our parking lot is 1 mile but has many speed bumps.

I was looking for rpm in 6th gear, sorry for not stating that!
mine is at 2350rpm. so the raise would be around 250rpm if I were to switch final drives?

Are you saying that you'll drive another car or do you have your tranny out right now??

Don't forget that your speedo gear will be spinning faster now and your MPH/KPH will read a bit higher.

After I did my gears, my car is reading 80 when I'm really doing about 75MPH. The error seems to get worse at higher speeds.

That's because it's off by a percentage, not a fixed value like 5mph.

Where is the final drive in your equation??? It should be this:

MPH = (RPM x tire OD in inches) / (gear ratio x final drive x 336)

What RPMs are you guys at when cruising about 90 mph in 6th?
For those with mods, is the engine loud when cruising at 90?

i thought that once you get over 100 you have to shift to the "really fast gear" it's where 7th is on other cars, and it's marked with an 'R'

I checked my 2 again and it´s at just over 6600rpm@60mph. I cannot understand who was in charge of handing out the gear ratios for us accord euro guys? not only crappy gearing but also a terrible final drive

Obviously, my answer wouldn't help much since my speedo is off.

As far as the noise goes, it's pretty much stock under cruising throttle all the way to 120mph. At that point, the road noise becomes louder than my intake.

How's it sound on an SC'd 5AT when not listening to a clean ass sound system?

Thanks for the reply 6_spd. The 5AT with SC is pretty nice at that speed. Not very loud and you can mostly hear more road noise than engine.

Although with the new bigger a-pipe on my car I can tell that it was louder than before. I guess that's the big reason why I was asking, I think if I had to cruise at a higher RPM, it would probably get a little too loud for me. I must be getting old :killer:
