You never know, I could just be desensitized due to the combination of my Injen CAI and my Tanabe. When I put on the RT cat and Topspeed header in the next couple of weeks I'll probably lose a decible of hearing...

If you want loud exhaust, you could do what I did to my Prelude. After the cat, just put on about 10" of tubing, then weld on a resonator, then weld on a 45° or so elbow with it pointing down. Basically, the exhaust tip is located just in front of the armrest. That's loud!!!

hmm to bad we would have to run the pipe back to the rear wheels where the next exhaust hanger is besides the one by the header.

Or you just weld a hanger on... not that hard.

If you're referring to the exhaust drowning everything else out, then you're right. I was completely expecting to hear some whine from my S/C, but my CT exhaust completely drowns it out.

Still, I wouldn't call the full CT setup loud unless you're at WOT. If I'm just cruising around town or down the highway and keeping my revs down (read: < 4k), I can't hear anything.

That car is strictly a weekend track only car. However, when I didn't have access to a truck and a trailer for towing, I did drive to the events.

Yeah, I did. I had it running back in February this year. It doesn't produce as much hp as the blown one. But the car is much lighter now, the lap times are actually quicker than before.

Awesome. Definitely can get quicker if you can handle better.

I think a single exhaust (rather than dual like everyone has) will get you what you're looking for. Doesn't Spoon offer a single exhaust?

Honestly....why would you want to go with a single exhaust when the car looks much better with a dual?

The sound clips I've heard of single exhausts actually doesn't make them seem to loud. I know tsxdriver posted clips of his 5Zigen ProRacer single a while back and it wasn't unreasonably loud.

For the money I say DC Sports or Skunk2, with a test pipe, is going to be the loudest you can get right now.

remember sound clips do not do any justice to any of the exhaust.

I've listen to comptech one of the sounds i like the most even on a tl
evo 2 greddy deep growl really nice as well most like it too
tanebae not bad sounding on this guys car it sounded more throatty
fujitsubo quiet rumble sound nothing really can be heard till you open up the system
dcsports by far the loudest and maybe borderline worst
horrible drone inside the sound is great just too loud for comfort we have a nice engine unlike civics they give off that civic sound exhaust this come real close but not so much.

those are my opinions..

why did you start this thread than? thought you wanted some opinions

if you want it to go cheap way, go:
-catless
-take off two exhaust resonators
-swap two mufflers for cheapo fart cans

i'll be pretty loud and cheap

The car pulls smoother and it looks better. =]

As for having a single exhaust, I don't believe it makes the car look better and it throws off the car balance.

Is this common side effect for aftermarket exhaust setups?

Well I guess that side effect should be normal because of the low bass resonance coming from the Evo 2. If you get one of those high pitched exhaust, I'm sure it wouldn't resonate as much.

Dc sports the drone in the car is almost unbearable, it borderline to rice, but a few people like it. Its one of the loudest espcially with a highflowcat.

Best ones stick with evo 2 and comptech.

My Evo 2 prior to my RT cat was very tame and deep; not ricey or loud at all. When I put my RT cat on, it definitely made the exhaust louder and a little less deep. But it still sounds deep and my CAI overpowers the exhaust sound at around 4500 rpms. Header didn't make any difference in sound.

This is courtesy of Clee109's comptech exhaust + injen CAI. This is how quiet it is during normal driving. You hear more of the CAI.

I've decided to get this, now if they only make them

I'm researching exhausts and I can't seem to find anyone running the Greddy SP2??

Anyone out there have this setup? With or without header. If so how do you like it?
Thanks.

Greddy SP2 sounds really nice on a 7G Accord coupe with a DC header. That's the only reference point I have, because a buddy's running that setup. Doesn't drone, sounds nice and deep.
