Looking to change sound on car

I want to make my car not sound as much like a honda and put a little deep noise into it. I heard that getting a new air filter could do some changes.. im not down for spending more then 250 to change this sound.

CAI. They're in the low $200's. The sound is apparent with WOT or above 4500rpm.

Or for $0, just remove the resonator.

Like everyone said, an intake will really make the engine growl and they are fairly cheap. Look for Fujita, Injen, or Comptech.

Lol not with the Injen...if you get on the gas with a little bit of pressure, you'll hear it...that thing is loud.

^^not hard to install. Search "Injen install" or something to that effect or go the FAQs section here.

If its your first time doing this stuff, why don't you try and take off the resonator first? You need to do it to install most intakes anyways, so try that and see if you like it. Its a couple of bolts, and if you don't like it, you can put it on as easily as you take it off.

short ram intakes are probably one of the easiest things to do on your car. u take off the stock components and replace it with your aftermarket. takes about 30 minutes your first time.

Agreeing with the reccomendation to take out the resonator. Learning to take off your bumper will be helpful if you plan on doing future mods such as foglights, bodykit installation, or a JDM headlight swap. You can have your bumper off inside of ten minutes with just a screwdriver and a 10mm socket. Make sure to lay down a large towel or some cardboard to prevent the bumper from being scratched while it's on the ground.

As for sound, I'm going to take an alternate route and reccomend a catback exhaust if you ever feel like spending a bit more cash. You can get one with a nice deep constant tone without going the rice route. Look into the Tanabe MT or the Greddy Evo2.

If you have an '06 or newer you will have to take off part of the bumper to get to one of the bolts on the resonator.

audioserf, i agree with you on the catback for better sound, but OP said he wont spend more than 250.
To OP, i went the DIY intake route and it sounds very nice. similar to injen, aem, fujita, and so on, however mine is not as loud since i used the factory piping which wont make the sound ring like an aftermarket metal piping would. Mine cost $10 dollars because i bought my AEM dry filter off of my friend, but it's very simple and you should consider it. pretty fun too. For you however, you can estimate pricing to be about $50-ish.
