Just to see if I have this intake situation understood
-A CAI is longer and flows below the engine to take in cooler air instead of engine bay air.
-A SRI removes the stock intake and is less restrictive, but sits within the engine bay.
-A CAI shows better power gains but increases the chance of taking water into the engine.
-A SRI gives less power gains than a CAI, but there is less chance to take in water into the engine.
Excuse the NooBness, but modding is new to me. Do I pretty much have the basics down here? Or is there more I need to know?

The chances of a CAI taking in water is very slim as well. Youd really have to be submerged in water to worry. The CAI removes the stock intake as well.
and elduderino, im not sure about the ice box, with the injen CAI and the short ram multiple dynos have shown around 7-9 hp for the short ram and about 10-12 for the injen i believe.

Taken from injen site..

I cant find any dynos with just an intake alone
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1272
but that's the dyno stick in the aftermarket parts and performance section.
And along with what Xizor said, i dont know much about the comptech ICE BOX but i think it's in it's own catergory in regards to then CAI and SRI.

The only thing going for the Ice Box is that it's quiter than the Injen and K&N intakes. Power gains are the lowest of all the options. The injen has been shown to put out 10-13hp on the dyno.
