Just installed the Injen CAI

That about sums it up.

Some great gains throughout the powerband, most noticeably in VTEC, where it just climbs the RPMs VERY quickly now. Simply stunning.

Install took about 45-50 minutes w/ a friend of mine.

Car pulls a LOT harder now and I can get to 120-130 km/h in much quicker fashion than without the intake.

=====
That being said, my car is still slow as hell compared to another friends' car I rode in today. G2 Teg w/ LS/VTEC w/ 22 lbs of boost, Quaife LSD, drag slicks, and C16 race fuel. Pushing over 445 WHP.
Traction is hard to come by even in 4th gear and 1/3 throttle... WITH SLICKS.
Simply INSANE how fast that car is though.
=====

Cheers,
Eric

a LOT harder? It's probably all in your head.

CAI = Pulls a bit harder.
CAI + EXHAUST = Pulls a bit harder.
CAT + EXHAUST + HEADER + HONDATA = Pulls a LOT harder.

I wouldn't waste the money on exhaust if you look at it this way, extra 2 HP for $800?

intake + header + hondata gives respectable gains

and you could always add in a high-flow cat for only $150-200

Actually a high-flow cat can be JUST as good as an OEM cat for the environment.

The thing is this: Stock cat has X amount of space "between the honeycombs" to let gases through (filtering them in the process). A "high flow" cat is technically just a cat with a greater amount of space between the honeytcombs, and/or more diameter inside the chamber to fit more honeycombs.

I slapped a high-flow cat on my Teg last year and my e-test numbers were almost 100% perfect. I'm talking DAMN good. High-flow can't be that bad for the environment if it passed that well!

It's awesome. Took a few friends for a rip today and they also loved the sound. It's aggressive, and fairly loud when WOT @ 6000 RPM on the highway (windows down), but cruising around town under 4000 RPM is nearly stock sounding. Maybe a VERY slight bit of throatiness/growl but definately quite stock-like.

I wanted to grab a before/after sound clip the day I had it done but I forgot my camera at work.

Congrats on your new CAI, I'm considering gettin one also, Do you notice any changes in gas efficiency? What are some of the maintenance required for CAI's after maybe 6 months after installation?

Haven't noticed any changes in mileage, although some people will say it makes your mileage drop, I'm 99% convinced that is because they tend to floor it and stay in the upper RPM range more with the sweet-sounding CAI.

I basically drive like I normally did, and get the same mileage. I got the CAI for those weekend runs through back roads and to enjoy the sound, too.

MPG only changes due to more WOT driving. If driven normally there's no difference, some even say better MPG.

As far as maintenance - you have to clean and re-oil the filter. The frequency with which you have to do so depends on environment conditions and personal preference. I think they say every 6 months or 30,000 miles or something like that.
