Installing a Few Aftermarket parts and was hoping for feedback please.

Hey guys i have had my 2005 TSX for a few years and felt it was time to upgrade its performance. I DO NOT race but i drive long distances on the expressway and just wanted to add a little boost to the cars performance is all. Hopefully all these mods will be done all at once through a reputable business here in miami, Fl when i decide to go through with it.

This is what i hope to achieve through these enhancements....

1) Increase Responsiveness (Basically go from 0 - 60 faster than i normally would stock)
2) Increase Sound ( I would like for the car to growl a bit but i dont wanna be heard a mile away)

Im kinda set on the CAI and the Exhaust but i was kinda wondering about what header to get and how much performance gain i would get out of it compared to the CAI and the Exhaust...

Cold Air Intake
Injen CAI System w/ MR Technology Converts to Short Ram
SP1431P
http://www.injen.com/docs/other/sear...lID=146&Eng=L4

Exhaust
GReddy Street Performance 2 - SP2
http://www.greddy.com/products/displ...&SubCategory=1

Header
I have no CLUE! plz help

I found a few posts comparing headers and showing improvements of like 10 hp

http://www.racingbeat.com/2001header/headertest.htm
http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...g+Common+Topic
http://daliracing.com/v666-5/info/gr...at_header_test.

Thanks in Advance

i have the same year TSX as you. Is it a auto or manual? cause for overall best bang for the buck, it would be the reflash but that only applies to the 05 Manual. I have the auto and as of right now i only have the Injen CAI, and its differently worth it. sounds normal when just driving but at WOT, its definitely sounds nice. you dont need a place to do install the CAI for you. I started as complete noob, not knowing how to do anything with the car, but with the DIY on this forum, I managed to do it myself. It takes about 2 hours. As for headers, most people here have either the DC Sports Headers and the Comptech...

If he has an auto, there's always the option to buy an auto ecu from an 04 have that reflashed and get the dealer to synch up the immobilizer and keys...

Search on the word "resonator"... just removing that will get you a little throttle response and some noise! You can go for a k&n drop in filter from there, or see if you want to proceed with the intake.

For the 04/05's a high-flow cat will make a good gain too, but the best bang for the buck is definitely the reflash. This has been discussed time and time again...

I mentioned it in my original post but i guess i deleted it ...I have a 2005 Acura TSX Automatic....

I am just curious as to how much it would cost to purchase an 04 ecu and have it all reflashed and ready to go...

I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to kinda give me an order as to what will increase my 0 - 60 speed ... kinda like

CAI - best - increase of W hp
Exhaust - 2nd - increase of X hp
Header - 3rd - increase of Y hp
Reflash - 4th - increase of Z hp

Thanks in Advance

I'm just rounding what dyno numbers would say
cai about 8-10
exhaust probably 1-2 hp you do get a bit torque but not much
headers is close to 8 for comptech and 6 for dc sports

reflash is like 20hp 20 tq but its not peak power so if you dyno the car you won't see the improve hp

Its a day and night feeling i have it.
bought someones used 04 ecu and he was doing a tranny swap
so he already had it reflash

used ecu idea price is $300 then reflash $500 something
then sync your keys at the dealer 1 key $80

Are you on a budget?
I'm sure all those will give you power, I would forget the exhaust really its just for sound.

Their is pulleys too, which help for auto.
I was always happy with every little power mod i did.

I would recommend not getting the SP2 exhaust, Once you do a header it will sound raspy, which isn't what you want. You have to stear away from extremely quiet exhaust, its a bad combo with the header. I'd say get buddy club...

and for a header go comptech...

Just a side note

Can someone tell me what a cat-back is please.... i searched it on google and wikipedia gave me an answer
Cat-back (also cat back and catback) refers to the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter to the final vent to open air. This generally includes the pipe from the converter to the muffler, the muffler, and the final length of pipe to open air.

What do people mean when they say stuff like
350z Injen Exhaust Cat Back
Installing a cat-back exhaust system on the 2005 Ford F-150...
are they just saying they got an exhaust system?

You've got the correct definition of cat-back. Otherwise, you would be talking about a muffler-back exhaust which does not include the pipe from the catalytic converter to the muffler, so it's just basically a muffler and exhaust tips

FYI, Comptech is probably the best made header available but if you have an AT (and I think you said you do) the Comptech header has a propensity to rattle. Its been documented in a number of threads (search for posts/threads by jiggaman and jwood_06TSX).

Thank you for the heads up jlukja...

I read somewhere that all someone has to do is change some rubber thing every 6 months and the vibration goes away and i think the following pictures show what needs to be changed...

Maybe Moda_way can chime in on this topic about this

BTW these pics were taken by Moda_way and he posted them here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/389638

If he doesnt like that i linked out the pictures please let me know and ill remove them...

I THINK these are the rubber things that need to be changed please let me know if its not....

Ryan has the 6MT. I'm sure Jordan (jwood) tried everything. Here is his latest troubleshooting thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40181

Here is jigga's thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31796
and another one by Reach: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36552

Not trying to dissuade you from Comptech, the other headers have their own issues. Just making sure you make an informed decision.

The only thing I suggest is getting all parts from heeltoe automotive Haha, JK Josh.

I have a customer who also did a reflash and a 06- cam on top of the other things mentioned. His car pulled pretty darn hard.....
