I need more power!
this car really seems to be lacking bottom end power and I really wanna fix that. I'm gonna be adding CAI as a little Christmas present to myself, but I know that's not gonna solve what I want. What are some cheap little bolt on mods that would give me a little bit more ass? How is the stock exhaust on these cars, are they a limiting factor?

Plus, if you go with a CAI first, you're actually losing bottom end.
Hondata isn't "cheap" but it will start you off in the right direction. A bit more oomph in the bottom end and a bit longer in the iVTEC top end.

As someone said earlier, you're definitely going in the wrong direction with the CAI if you want more low-end power / response. For that, you should either go with an SRI or the Comptech Icebox.

Reflash without a doubt is the best mod you can do without going crazy. And yes it is beneficial without mods.

You guys, kill me with the power thing. The TSX is not a race car, nor was it designed to be. I bought a 06 Miaita, because I wanted a roaster. I guess I could have taken my TSX and removed the rear seat, cut the top off changed the suspension and made it a roaster?? If you want power, then buy a car that HAS power.

boost owns
Short-ram is helpful with the low end (at least according to my butt dyno after converting from CAI this weekend). Pullies sounds like your best bet so far though.

Advanced
weight is the problem, I say Gut the interior, remove navi, all seats, ac, carpet, spare tire, and etc... Also I recommend you replacement the stock body panel with carbon fiber such as trunk, hood, door, fender and bumper (if they make one) just have one racing seat for you

Header appear to be relatively cheap for these cars and there is plenty of room on the backside of the engine to put it. I am not real convinced that CAI does anything that you can't do with K&N filter and removal of the resonator.

i find it hard to believe that you can dislike the s2000. for its price its the ultimate driving machine. i know this sounds corny but when i drove the s2000 it felt like we were one with the road lol. it handles like nothing else for its price imo. as far as size goes, what do u expect from a 2 dr roadster. and lack of vision??? its a convertible.... cmon now
just my 2 cents

I understand what you guys are getting at that the TSX is not a sports car, but who doesn't like a little bit more power under the hood? If I drove a 7 series BMW with no ass behind it, what good is it? You pay for power, luxury, and looks. In this case I paid for luxury and looks, with very mediocre power. All I wanted was something cheaper that would give me a little bit of power. If I could have it the same speed as a newer 6 speed V6 accord then I'd be a happy man. I'm looking into the pulleys right now, definitely sounds like a cheap winner right now and I might do the K&N filter with the resonator removal to save some money
Why are S2000's even being brought up? They're not even in the same league. First of all, I didn't buy a TSX to be a road racing car. I bought it to get me around town in style and feel comfortable in it. I'm a 6'3 280 lb guy, do you honestly know how it feels to sit in an S2000? I was driving with my legs with my head hitting the roof.

The thing that affected the way my car drive the most on the low end was the lighter rims and tires. For a torqueless car, it does wonders with responsiveness. With my tire/wheel combo, I lost 7 lbs at each wheel, so it was very noticable. Headers are a really noticable difference, but the power is more broadly spread. Still, if you keep your foot on the pedal (which is what you are supposed to do with a 4cyl Honda), the power is spread throughout the rev range.
There really is no 1 easy bolt on to get low end power, unless you go with the CT supercharger. Good luck to you.

I've heard headers make the best improvement as an easy bolt on. pulleys give you power throughout your whole rpm. If it's more acceleration speed you want rather than power, than try a light weight flywheel. Fidanza...someone on here has on and did an awesome review on it. And the exhaust for our cars are very freeflowing (the actual OEm catback) the headers and cats can be switched out for quite a bit of gain, but an aftermarket catback does nothing.

I'd have to look around at some rims, definitely a really good point though.
How does it sound with the headers on? Most 4 cylinder cars that have headers are obnoxious. I still want it a nice clean, humming noise

I think you'll like the effect a good header will have. It isn't hard to self-install either. For the most part, it won't do anything aesthetically (some vibration issues with comptech), but it will add power and more importantly for you, responsiveness.

Your Mod list should be
1). Short ram intake (improves low end)
2). Hondata reflahs (imrpoves entire rpm)
3). Front Tower Strut bar & Sway Bar (tighten the car and increase handling by a bunch)
after those if you want more then there is the superchargers, headers, pulleys, hondata gasket, exhaust if you want sound haha.
