Wonder wht are the differences b/w intakes and heat gaskets. hondata say it is about 5% increase in power so thats roughly ~10Hp gain. i think its a much better value than CAIs. i may opt for this.

well as far as performance per dollar, the heatshield is supposedly better. however intake is still one of the best bang for the buck mods you can get so why not just get both?

actually i HATE modding my car. guess since im alil older now i dont really like lowering my car, adding intakes, and exhausts. I may or maybe not even do the hondata thing unless it gives the tsx som moree low end torque. kinda of odd that im even thinking about the mugen SS, but it does give it it alil sportier look, something along the lines of the stock IS and 3 series.

Certain applications require longer studs but most don't. The last I heard they have stopped shipping the gasket with the washers so it may not be a problem anymore. The good things is you never have to replace another intake manifold gasket, as it's reuseable and it doesn't need any sealant to install.

Not necessary. For an OBD2 ECU (which the TSX has), as intake temp decreases, fuel increases, as well as ignition timing. The engine behaves a little peppier with less throttle. Don't get me wrong, the gasket alone is not going to make the car faster. It's just one of the components that compliments other mods that one would add their setup. It's just like the Hondata reflash that enhances the typical intake/header setup.

common sense says that when fuel increases, so does mpg.
were not talking alot worse, like 1mpg worse, maybe 2. i was saying that the ONLY con to doing this mod is that you will lose just a little mpg.

Now while i don't think the gasket will give you any increase in efficiency something like a hondata ecu tune can.(it's used in conjunction with a CAI)
It is correct however that with an i-vtec system you can feasibly get more power(more advance) while using the same or less amount of fuel. The change in temp in this case probably isn't enough to have this effect but it is possible.

i am more interested in their ECU upgrade than the headgasket. yes, it's nice. but i am not sure how much diff it will make for regular everyday driving. besides, i found it a pain to get it installed when i helped my friend to install his on his si hatch.

I spend 2 much time here
stokeless i would think that you'd be better off selling your TSX and buying a TL if that's the kind of horsepower you're after. save yoursef alot of money and headaches and blown engines.
