Hondata gasket question.

Hey, this is for the poeple that have installed the hondata heat gasket. im not too familiar with how it works or helped, but i did a little reading. would anyone say that it is worth picking up? if anything is noticablely different for 60$ id be happy.
and even if it wasnt performance gains, would it be good for the engine itself, maybe since it reduces heat transfer?
i am considering ordering this week

It doesn't really help the engine at all because it's keeping the heat in the engine and not in the intake. Nothing to worry about.

I have a hard time believing that it could produce 3-5hp because the air is only in the intake manifold for a fraction of a second. I do know that the manifold with the stock gasket does get pretty hot so i guess anything's possible....

One analogy is the hair dryer effect. Air is passing through the rear and exit to the front. If the heat element is on (hot intake manifold) the air will come out the other end hot. By keeping the heat element cool (cooler intake manifold), the air will come out cooler. Well, that the best I can do.

jtso, notice any MPG increases? i drove 300 highway miles to go home at got 33MPG, going 75-85 the entire way on cruise control. It was the first time I took a long trip w/ my CAI and was pretty impressed. Hoping the gasket can do a bit as well.

I haven't noticed any increase in mileage but no decrease either. I still get about 25mpg city/freeway. However, I do tend to drive it a little more aggressive to hear the intake sound, especially when vtec kicks in.
