The car now accelerates much stronger and smoother in the mid to higher RPM range. I really did not care for the way VTEC kicked in at 6K before and the way it sounded when it did with my injen intake. Now the roar of VTEC is much more progressive and is harder to distinguish when it kicks in at 5K. I did have a chance to jump on the highway and found it much easier to get up to speeds of 100+ which is probably not going to be a good thing if i make it a habit of doing that : ) Overall I'd have to say this mod has renewed my love of driving the TSX and think that it is a shame that this car doesn't drive like this right off the lot!

Thanks again Doug!!!

Congrats and enjoy!!
to HONDATA..... obviously customer service is #1

Glad to hear that everything worked out in the end, jigga. Now if you can only get your headers installed without issue, you'll be good.

Which dealer is Doug at?

If I have to send my ECU to a dealer to be sent to Hondata, I'd rather pick a dealer that everyone trusts. I've heard that the ones closest to me (in NYC) look kinda shady. No addtional effort, anyways, maybe just more $ to ship to CA vs NY.

Doug is the head honcho over at Hondata.

As for your ECU, you can go through any dealer in the country. They alsmot all just send you the shipping labels and allow you to mail it yourself. All the reflashes are performed at Hondata's facility in California regardless of where you are located.

Probably the single most recommended dealer here is Epic Motoring. Look them up online and talk to Kevin there. He's been a huge help to the folks here at AcuraZine and will give you excellent service.

you certainly cannot really notice it just putting around town. however once you let it rip the powerband feels dramatically different in my opinion.

Hondata, any plans to add dealers to Canada, specifically the Toronto area. The cuurent dealer IMO charges too much, not even close to what current exchange dictates.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE. We need fair Canadian representation for Hondata products... the ppl up here are getting bent over on the prices IMO.

As for the "Toronto" area, I'd look at 3 main markets: Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. Those are the 3 main "performance" markets in Canada and basically cover the country coast to coast.

I think Woodbine Acura will be a good choice, since they carry Comptech's products too.

DOUG

I completely agree. Hondata is not properly represented in the Toronto area. There are several members of this forum alone that are interested in your service but are being prevented from access to it by higher than fair market pricing.
Acura Woodbine would be a fine choice as an alternative dealer in the area.

Three things need to happen.

1) We need a contact for the performance person there.
2) You need to talk to that person - give your names and phone numbers and tell them what you want.
3) They will need to complete a dealer application

Fair enough!

1) Acura Woodbine Parts Manager- Rob McCormick 1-800-808-0257
2) Come on guys!!! I've already done this now I need all you other guys that are interested to call Rob (toll free) 1-800-808-0257 and tell him that your interested in the Hondata reflash when/if he becomes a Hondata dealer.
3) Hopefully Acura Woodbine will jump all over this and apply to Hondata. (I'd like to be Hondatified before the end of April)

Interesting question though... will a Honda/Acura dealer still warranty a car if it's been Hondata-ified? Normally I thought , but if its from an authorized Acura AND Hondata dealer, would that warranty be a ??

IMO its the same with any mod, if you modify a car you will void the warranty if there is a problem as a direct result of the modification. What is the liklihood that that could happen with Hondata? Its been out for over a year with no issues. Maybe the trick would be to just drop off your ECU, immobilizer and key to the dealer without bringing your car in for service? Then there's no record of your vehicle being Hondatafied. At this point it's not a big issue for me as I'll be out of warranty by in about 6 months......I just want Hondata ASAP.

If you look at the list of hondata dealers on the hondata web site you'll see that Acura of South Bay is a hondata dealer. A member here (don't recall who at the moment) talked with them and they told him that if they do the reflash it will not void the warranty if they do the warranty work.
