hmm DIY CAI idea

If I wanted to keep everything looking stock, couldn't I just take the panel filter out and slap a cone filter on the end of the tube in the wheelwell where the resonator used to be? So it would be using all the stock airbox material, but just bypassing the panel filter and using a cone one instead.

The tube that runs down from the box to the resonantor isn't long enough for a cone to be straped to it... it barely clears the cut away for it. If you could get a longer piece of rubber hose the same width, then yes.

but why... you'd be so much better off if you want to keep the stock look going with the Competch or Mugen Airbox

Thanks, gents. Haven't dyno'd yet (plus, I've also installed headers and Random cat since my last dyno), but I am planning on dyno-ing with both CAI and SRI. Just to see what the difference is.
