hid bulb color

i just bought 8000k bulbs, do i need to cvhange the ballast or is the bulb enough

no need to change the ballast, you should be able to just change the bulb.

is it an easy process bc i had a mechanic look at it today and he was having trouble, so im going back tomorrow when he had more time....

don't wanna burst your bubble...

but changing to 8000k isn't really a good idea

kelvin is color temperature
lumens is light output

the higher color temperature, the lower light output...

8000k will LOOK amazing, but for visibility is borderline dangerous

but yeah...just change the bulbs..it should be fine

yeah, there's a reason why factory usually stay around 4300k. it's supposed to be optimal for visibility with a hint of blue flicker. Usually 6000k is considered a good upgrade to stock since not much visibility is lost and more blue is added. But 8000k would look pretty cool good luck with you install and post some pics

a i was aware of the light loss, but i appreciate everyones input. I'll post pics when i get it done, supposed to be done today bnut i will definatley have them in tomorrow and will hopefully post pics on Monday...

Did you get the D2S bulbs? Make sure it's not the D2R because that's incompatible.

I also have 8000k bulbs installed in my car, i don't see much of a difference between stock or 8k bulb. Just looks alot cooler with the blue light.

I believe the only troublesome thing is the screws that's on the low beam cover. @@

if u get that off, everything else's easy.

i hope you dont mind me asking, but...where did you buy them? and how much? i'm interested in going up to 6000k, but looking for a good price. looking forward to the pics
