I think autozone has the silvania silverstars or something. But they are like $40 each pack of 2. I think the color will match the HID's though.

I'm in the "Screw Sylvania Silverstars" camp too. They die very quickly. If you want the white effect, go for Philips DiamondVision H1.

BTW, the Silverstars are the same colour as your stock highbeam.

PIAA bulbs are better than Sylvania. But PIAA's will blow after about a year of use. I have gone through countless sets. The only advantage to PIAA's are that they are backed by a one year warrenty. If PIAA bulbs weren't so overpriced i wouldn't mind spending the money.

Any white bulbs will blow within a year. CAtz, PiAA, etc. They won't last!

Well as soon as I saw that the website stated that they were the best of the best of the best, I assume that they are the worst bulbs ever.

I got the OSRAM Silverstars from powerbulbs's website . I had it for over two years and it hasn't blown yet. I think they are much better than the Sylvania equivalent Silverstar (better quality in OSRAM?)

Question is...how often do you guys use your highbeams? Doyou guys run your highbeams non-stop? I only occasionally run them in dark rural roads, or if I need to high beam someone

It is a fact. Sylvania themselves only rate the Silverstars at 150 hours.

Also, anybody considering the whiter bulbs should read these: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/t...blue/blue.html

Here is a view with just the HID lights on:

Here is with the HID and fog lights:

Here is with the HID and High Beams:

I do like the Phillips Blue Vision. Only drag is that you have to order them from the U.K. They are not avalible locally. Not yo mention that they didn't have blue vision fog lights. That is why I went with the Hoen Xenomatch

How does the light output compares to the standard high beams? I have heard most of the "blue" bulbs have "less output" than the regular lightbulbs. I would like to match the color without lossing to much output if possible, otherwise I keep the standard light bulbs.

Well, not being an electrical engineer, I can not confirm or deny this, but this comparison chart may help:

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...on/default.htm

Phillps does not provide such a comparison chart, but I would think you can still refer to it for reference. If you compare lets say the 9005 (they don't list the H1 bulbs the TSX uses for high beams) on the standard spec. and the Cool Blue (which would be the equivalent to the Phillips BlueVision), there is no aparant difference ( both are around 1700 lumens).

Thanks for the info. Interesting stuff on those charts.

According to that, the only quality "white" bulbs are:

Narva RangePower+50
Narva RangePower+30
GE Nighthawk
Osram Silver Star
Philips Vision Plus

But I can't find any of those for sale in the US. Does anyone know an easy way to order these?

I bought some Narva RangePower+50 from Daniel Stern Lighting. All the other suppliers I found were not in the US.

I'd just like to point out that OSRAM is Sylvania. Same company, different packaging for different countries.

Unfortunately my camera is dissabled for now. BTW these "white" bulbs don't look much different from the OEM "yellow" high beams. I was looking for better coverage vs matching the HID's color. I checked them against a wall, and the beam seems to be more "concentrated" in the center than the stock beams. I will find out at the end of next month on the way to South Hill/Bracey area.

That's true in Germany. But not in the US.
Sylvania Silverstars +50 are shit and only lasts a few months. Osram Silverstars +50 (which you can't find in the US) on the other hand last 1 year.

Nokya

Haven't heard it mentioned, I thought the Nokya's were good.

I ran through many silverstars, burn out like clockwork at 1 year,
same in the accord 9006 bulb. The H1 silverstar put a helix shadow
pattern in the projection that drove me crazy, could actually
see the coil of the filament.
