help with buying foglights?

Hi i've been searching around and wondering about foglights.

I will soon be buying a oem front lip so i heard its only compatible with usdm fogs?
is that correct?

I also was wondering about what bulbs people were using and happy with like the xeonmath jdm look.

Some also did hids did they have to buy hids and the fogs?

Did people use factory acura paint to paint the fog housing?
If so any ideas where i could get it.

How about the switch?

ebay fogs maybe? i read some of the harness suck so does anyone think we can use a harness kit from heeltoe?

Thanks guys I don't mind spending the money.

1. yes
2. thought about nokya hyper yellow?
3. yeah, you have to buy the foglights and the hid kit. I personally dont think its worth buying a kit for the fog. If you really want to match to your hid headlights then go with Hoen. I know a lot members have the Hoen and they are pretty happy with it.
4. I honstly dont think it will look good with matched up fog light brackets. You car is already dark enough so no need... If I had PWP then yes, I will match up the body color...
5. If you really want to go through some headache then go for it...I really dont recommend the ebay foglights. dont let the price fool you.. Just get the JDM or USDM.
I hope this helped to your questions...

I have Hoen bulbs. Love them.

I painted mine (CG) and thought it looks good, the paint doesn't bond well (at least in my case) to the plastic. My suggestion, if you have a dark colored car, don't paint them. It is nearly unnoticeable.

I did the OEM install myself. Only a few difficult areas on the install.

I bought one of the cheapest ebay kits you could have gotten, and unless you feel like customizing the whole thing, don't do it. I paid $50 bucks for the kit and here are the problems i encountered with it:

-The lamps are fine, nice yellow H11's but the the hardware isn't all there. I had to use some of my own bolts to get them to stay since there weren't the right ones.
-The wiring harness is cheap, and it will fit if you make it fit otherwise, i ended up extending it
-No instructions came with it, and you can't use the OEM ones cause you have a completely different EVERYTHING...
-No stalk replacement, a switch that does fit in the holes next to the VSA and sunroof buttons however, the front part of the switch isn't flush, it sticks out. So i had to order a 04 Honda Accord switch which then requires me to now purchase a different wiring harness that i have to spliced into the already wired lights, relay, and battery connection

When all is said and done i will have it done once i get the new harness and you won't know the difference, but it was a PITA!!!!!!

I have heard however, that some people have had a lot better luck with the JDM ones on ebay....i just wasn't that lucky cause i tried to be cheap.

So my opinion, just pay for the OEM ones. Moda was right too though, paint does not bond to that plastic well at all. I tried on the back to see if i could get it to work, and it just doesn't work well.

Just my 2 cents for ya....

Thanks guys.

I was looking into jdm and euro but i heard they won't fit with the oem lip.

So gotta stick with usdm.

Where do you guys get the hoen bulbs?
the hid kit is like double the price of the oem fogs.

Iw as wondering about painting becasue i did look nice on some cars in the hongkong chinese new year but they were a perfect match and probably had alot preping for it.

hm... well, I got my fogs from ebay recently and everything worked ok... the guy I bought it from just forgot to include the screws to adjust the aim on my fogs... so that's one bad thing... other than that, all good. Didnt have to extend or cut anything. Plug and play. Directions can be found in "Foglight Rewire" thread. The guy I bought it from is motorblvd. Good luck.

I dont see why the JDM fogs wont work with the USDM lip. The USDM lip goes around the fog light housing. As opposed to the JDM lip which overlays the fog light housing, thus the neccesity for JDM fogs w/ the JDM lip.

It's actually the other way around, the USDM fogs don't work with the JDM lip.

Also from word of mouth i hear HOEN bulbs match the HID's. But I personally have the Nokya Yellows.
