heated mirrors

Has anyone added heated mirrors? I saw that the Canadian version has heated mirrors and I assume that one of the switch blanks next to the moonroof switch is for them.

The switch is actually right next to the mirror adjustment switch. I haven't seen anyone that's done the conversion but there aren't that many parts to get.

This is my one gripe about the car. I'm in NY and the side view mirrors do fog or frost in the winter. I'm going to look into the heated mirror conversion.

I ended up having to get an '04 rather than the '05 I was waiting for, and that was the one "new" feature I was the most sorry I had to give up. I called around to custom shops, and picked the brains of the service department at the dealership:

-Custom shop suppliers don't have an available aftermarket headed mirror part yet, but was told to expect to pay $200 to $350 when they are available, installation included.

-The dealership guys said they would try to work something out when the '05s started hitting the lot and they could order the appropriate parts. Cost unknown at this point.

It will be doable, one way or the other. The questions are when and how much.

Man there's no way I'd pay $300 for heated mirrors. I have them and they're just not that useful. I guess the grass is always greener...

Waste of money. I've been driving in Canada for 11 years and 8 of those years were in cars with heated mirrors. I can could on one hand the number of times I've used them.

If you had a 6MT you would be using your mirrors alot more.

Eh- I won't argue. It's just a little something to make myself feel better after giving up on the extra goodies on the '05 in deciding to pull the trigger on an '04.

...of course, I could always invest that money in something more practical or useful, like a body kit or some chrome wheels.

where do you park over night?

Last winter almost everyday I'd come out to my car and have them fogged or iced up. I'd be able to put them to god use.
