Fujitsubo Exhaust installed and ~big pics
Installed and been living with the exhaust for about a week now...
All of the following impressions are from inside the car, since I haven't had a chance to hear it from the outside (other than idle) ...
First startup: It was surprisingly louder than I expected, really deep and mellow. I could immediately tell the difference from the stock system. It wasn't as loud as my previous Civic with Tanabe Racing Medallion, though.
Freeway driving: it's really quiet. You almost can't tell anything's different. It's subtle. Mash the throttle, and you get more of the deep tones like at idle. It's never unbearably or obnoxiously loud though.
I think it's a couple of pounds lighter than stock, I really couldn't tell b/c the stock system is only two pieces from the cat all the way to the muffler (and one of the two pieces is the driver side muffler!)
Overall, I don't think it's worth $800, which is what I paid, but if you have some money to burn, it might be a worthwhile upgrade?
specs: 60.5mm piping (splits to dual 50.8mm,) 90mm tips; 20.3kg vs 22.8kg stock; full stainless steel
more specs and pics here: fujitsubo japan website
here's some pics i took:
one of the resonators.
the other resonator.
the split.
compared to stock.
a close-up.
a view from behind/under the rear wheel (note the comptech sway bar with prothane urethane bushings!)
rear/corner view (fresh coat of NXT!)
rear quarter view (sunny day!)

Ooh, nice shiny exhaust.
I have a Comptech exhaust and I can say I got it for the looks and sound. I don't regret it because that's what I had in mind when I bought it.

it's hard to quantify any power gains b/c you want to drive harder so you can hear the exhaust...on the fujitsubo website i think it states a ~3ps power gain, which isn't much.
i don't regret the purchase, i think an exhaust is primarily a cosmetic mod until you get deeper into other mods...just seems kind of expensive compared to a CAI or sway bar...I think I got caught up in the excitement of all the groupbuys going on...and I missed the fun of getting mods (my previous Civic was stolen twice and finally declared a total loss...)
I got the bushings from www.philsinc.com, ~13 plus shipping I think? Prothane model #19-1122, they are grooved on the inside to "hold in the grease" so you don't have to grease them more than once...had them on for about two weeks now, no squeaking...the car's a lot more fun through the turns!
Thanks for the comments!

Yeah, the install is easy, ranks right up there with an intake or less...you want to be able to jack up the car though, makes it a lot easier. Also, you might want to think about where you're gonna store the stocker, like I said it's basically one super long piece.
Also, the catalytic converter-to-b-pipe section has three bolts, and the top one is super tough to loosen...i used the 2 wrench ghetto breaker bar technique...but other than that, it's a quick and easy install.
Good luck
Brian

Why does everyone try to compare a TSX exhaust note to a G35, or 350Z. Our car is a 4 banger, while the others have 6cyl. in them. Totally different engine. It will never sound the same.........
When I had my IS300, we would always say, don't just buy the taillights, buy the whole damn car. If you want your TSX to sound like a 350, or G35.....go buy one of those!

I dont see anything wrong using the G35 as a reference. I think it has the sweetest stock exhaust sound. I love my TSX, but it would be even better with the G35 sound. People use the G35 as a reference because its not rice, not loud, but you notice it.

There's nothing wrong with liking how the G35 sounds its just that you can't make a I4 sound the same as a V6. You're missing a couple cylinders. Have you ever heard a V6 Accord that sounds like a Vette?

How can you use and exhaust as a reference if your car will never sound like it. You want a car to reference with a stock upgraded exhaust...think....Mazda Speed Protege, Nissan Sentra SE-R...you want to compare with those...They are upgraded exhausts, sound good, and come stock from the factory.

Bringing this post back from the dead. After having my exhaust laying around for almost a month, I FINALLY got it installed.
My exhaust I had on my IS300 ( HKS Dragger II) was way too loud to me, and I was a bit nervous about putting this one on, wondering if it too would be a bit annoying to have on.
With the Injen Intake in place, under WOT, you can't even notice the exhaust being there, cause the intake takes over on sound. At regular cruising speeds (70MPH--highway) you can hear a bit of a deep tone, with stereo off and all. Under regular acceleration, you can hear it a bit, but not to a point where it makes it annoying, again stereo off.
Overall sounds awesome. Quieter than the intake. So if anyone was wanting to purchase an exhaust for whatever reason, I would recommend the Fujitsubo cause of how low a tone it has that is not annoying to hear.
Power gains are the big minus side here. I can't feel any type of gain (not that I expected to), and I never dynoed the car prior to installation, so how much I actually got from it will be unknown.
Just thought I'd share that!

Thanks for the exhaust update. I have an opportunity to get one tomorrow, and I wanted an opinion from someone who has it installed. The last thing I wanted to do was install it and find it is too loud for my taste.

I just installed my fujistubo exhaust today. Pretty much the same results as the others. The install was easy but like kanj said, that top nut on the catalytic was a B. Had to use a breaker bar as well. Installed new nuts on the cat, got them from the dealer. 3 bucks each. That's a rip. I had my TSX over a year the the nuts were the only thing rusted under the car. The sound is awesome. Not too loud and a deep note. At start up you get a nice deep sound. At idle you barely hear it. Acccelrating or downshifting in the lower RPM's has the most cabin drone but not unbearable. 70MPH in 6th you barley notice it just a mild drone. Overall I like it. Not loud like the cars you can hear coming 3 blocks away but just enough for people to notice it's not stock. Now the car has a hot sound to go along with the hot look.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the nut(s) that had to be replaced? I will be attempting to install my fuji exhaust tomorrow weather-permitting.

The kit comes with nuts and bolts for the exhaust but it didnt have any for the 3 catalytic nuts. Mine came with a gasket for the catalytic but no new nuts. You dont need a part number, just tell the parts dealer you want the 3 bolts on the catalytic.
