Follow-up - TB Coolant Bypass in the winter

Just wanted to have everyone post about doing the TB coolant bypass and it working fine.

So far I've been running mine in winter, in 10 F weather with rain/snow prior....

NO ISSUES AT ALL!!

Everyone sign in if you are running the TB coolant bypass in winter to put the issue to rest.

I didn't think it will have any problems after my "freezer" test.

Been down to -8F here, no problems with the TB bypass or the throttle plate sticking or anything. To be honest, I forgot about it.

FYI, starting doesn't/shouldn't use the TB at all and neither does the idle, so you should be able to start the car and warm it IF there was ever an issue... but as you can see, none of us have had any issue.

It does on our car. DBW eliminates the idle air controller.

Haven't had any problems here either.

Good point, I forgot we don't have an idle control valve.

No problems here either. Went down to 6F for me.

To my understanding it has to be pretty damn cold for the throttle plate to stick. And I doubt that if it stuck without the TB bypass on a cold start with one it'll still stick... since I don't warm my car up before driving.

Not just could but also moist. Developing icing on the TB inside the comparatively warm engine compartment (even without coolant flow) seems like it would be a pretty remote occurance. I guess it's had to have happened since every car has this feature though.

Mine has been installed for several months, but then again it was 81 yesterday.

However, for the few times the temp has dipped below freezing (and a few days in the teens) I have experienced no issues.
