Finally decided to spend some money on mods

I am very excited. I finally ordered the hondata reflash. I should have it back by Thursday or Friday. I also just bought a full exhaust. CT header, test pipe and Tanabe medalion cat back. I cannot wait untill I get everything installed. I'll post some video and pictures ASAP.

I have done some looking but can't get a solid answer. What time do you think I'll do in the 1/4 mile. I'm thinking I should be in the 14's.

I also just got a 1978 buick riviera 75th anniversary edition fora b-day gift. Not the best looking car but it's a v8 with rear wheel drive. Should be fun.

Those mods wont put you in the 14's alone.. Its all on the driver. If you havent been to to the track with the car, you wont hit 14's. You have to run a few times at the track/street to get a feel for your car. You'll probably run 15.4's all day. You might push out a 15.2

If u take out spare wheel, rear seat and passenger seat, leave like 5 liters of fuel, take out the battery after u start the engine, then maybe u will break 15.0 mark

Wow kid.. did you really type that?? You should be banned for that non sense!

But on another note.. the reason why i say it depends on the driver is because i ran 14.9 with just an intake and DC header. That was on stock suspension and pretty much bald tires (i think the tires actually helped!). It was cold out as well but the track was slippery once you left the box so i had to let off the gas alittle to keep traction and i missed 4th gear twice. So its do-able.

Yea.. you'll see 15.5's all day.. You might push out a 15.2 but that depends on you. You have to get use to the car all over again. Since your adding power, where you launched at last time might not work this time.

sounds like a good way to start modding. Percyse is right, you will not hit 14s until you swap out more stock peices (heavy & restrictive) for go-fast/lightweght goodies and dial in your launch once you get the feel of the new mods. GL on the progress.

The hondata reflash is complete. The exhaust is in the mail. I am waiting to get everything on. Then I'll give a review and put up some video. Wish me luck that everything goes well.

Also, if you get the car running, and then quickly remove the key and leave it outside, you can save additional weight I'm sure. But I think collectively, running your car while naked will save more weight vs. just chucking the key after starting the car....But doing both, along with all the other said weight reduction mods will def shave seconds off your time.

Here is a little video i took for you. The Tanabe exhaust is supposed to be under 93db. I think that this is without a header and test pipe. The car is much louder then I thought but it sounds really good from inside the car. There is a really bad resonance between 2500rpm and 3500rpm. I think is I had a high-flow cat instead of the test pipe that might be eliminated.

The video sounds really crappy. Im not sure if it is the camera or just the way the car sounds with no load.

Impressions: This car is totally different. It pulls really hard from any rpm. Not sure what made the most power, but put together it is a great combo.

The install was fairly easy, except for taking the bolts off the cat. Even getting them red hot and using an impact gun would not budge them. I ended dropping the exhaust as a whole.

The build quality is top notch. If anyone is interested I highly recommend Excelerate in Branford CT. They were very helpful.

soon Ill get a video of in car and drive by.

Sounds great! I'd rather listen to my Tanabe, et al– than my audio mods, most of the time!

I don't use my radio much any more. Just listen to the exhaust and enjoy the weather.

definitely a nice sounding setup. A clip of the exhaust at WOT inside the cabin would be a great sound clip. I'm hoping k-pro is one of your mods down the road

I wish I knew about k-pro few months ago. I bought the Hondata re-flash but would have bought the k-pro.

Maybe I will take some video tonight.

I went to the track Saturday. Lebanon Valley in West Lebanon NY. I was hoping for a low 15s pass from what everyone on here said. Although I didn't make it into the 14s I now know it can get there.

I made three passes the first and last were 15.2. The middle was 15.09@92.89

here are the numbers:
2.336 60ft
6.462 330ft
9.807 660ft
81.90 1/8mph
12.671 1000ft
15.096 1/4s
92.89 1/4mph

mods are:
comptech header
no cat
tanabe cat back
hondata reflash
injen CAI
ingals torque dampner

Hey man, you're in Stratford? I'm in Norwalk. Good to see some more CT posters with modded rides around here. You should keep an eye on the NY/NJ area Meets thread and show up some time, they're always fun.

We have a few similar mods. I'm running a CT-E header, Injen CAI, and Tanabe MT catback. It sounds good, doesn't it?

I would advise getting a high-flow cat from Josh, though. In most cases, running catless doesn't really help the TSX performance-wise, and is really, really bad for the environment (not everyone cares, but in this case it's sort of irresponsible for the 1 or 2 whp gain over a high-flow cat). Just a thought.

Take it easy.

I went with no-cat because it was cheaper. I think I will do a high-flo cat soon. I hope it will help with the resonance a little.

As far as enviroment. I think it might be good as now they are saying the earth might be cooling again.

My wife works in norwalk hospital.
