Fake HID's for my friend's Accord?

Hi all,
I was walking through AutoZone and notice some bulbs that give out a blue/white light. THeir not HID's though. I was wondering if its ok to put those in 2003 Accord Coupe. Will it melt the housing or anything? I thought this would be the best place to ask the question.
She doesn't want to spend to much money so thats why we thought this might be a cheaper alternative.

I've been using Silverstar and Coolblue bulbs by Sylvania on my other cars. They're not as white or bright as HIDs but a lot better than OEM bulbs. The only thing I hate about using these bulbs is that you have to change them every year. They burn out after about a year. Coolblue is as bright as the Silverstar but cheaper. Coolblue (as the name suggest) is a little more blue compaired to the Silverstars but the light output is about the same. I went from using Coolblue to Silverstar and back to Coolblue. I've used them for about 3 years now and they haven't melted my housing yet. Hope this helps.

they won't hurt anything but if they're the really blue ones they're crap and put out less light. Like posted above get a pair of silverstars. My g/f has had heres for longer then a year without a problem.

I've changed out my H1 highbeams in my TSX to silverstars. They are brighter than the stock bulbs. They won't melt your headlights because they run in the same wattage as stock bulbs

Yup. just make sure you get the right type of bulb, IE: 9006, 9005, H1, etc. Check your manual, should be in there, and if you can't find it, the car parts store you go to should be able to find the right type!

I just don't get the fascination with such silly things as wanting to have HIDs. Who are you trying to impress?
The light given off by any of the alternatives listed here is about as subjective as the style of a car.

Pretty simple really--more light output means safer night driving, whether in HIDs or higher-output bulbs. Also, it really depends on the person, since your eyes' light sensitivity diminishes with age...I have a harder time seeing at night than when I was younger, and HID makes a big difference for me at night.

However I can't speak for others, as they probably want "HID-look" more than safer night driving.

Any light bulb that is tinted blue is taking away from the total amount of light output. Therefore a fake a hid looking light is actually worse for night driving. The only ones that are brighter are the ones that are running a higher output and are illegal.
