ECU SWAP backward possible???

ECU SWAP backward possible???
As all of you already know 04 5AT ECU can swap into 05 5AT, I would like to know if 05 5AT ECU can use it in 04 5AT without error?

Reason I'm asking is I'm ready to swap ECU w/ a friend who has Hondata on his 04 5AT, I would like to know the possibility of swapping my 05 ECU into his.

The only problem I can think of is VIN # on 05, other than that everything is the same?

Seems like it should be fine. I'm not sure if the smog test will call up the vin number or its like the 05 ecu shoots the vin number out during the test..

aren't the key, immobilizer, and ecu a matched set? the dealer may have to reprogram...i dont know...

Yes, will trade 05 ECU + Immobilizer w/ the 04 ECU + Immobilizer. I just wonder if there will be any errors due to the integrate VIN# in 05 ECU.
