So are these replica JDM style Foglights any good? I mean we always hear about the OEM's cracking so it might not be worth it to buy the real thing... so how about the replica's?

do they have a decent beam pattern? I could buy 2 replica kits for the price of one OEM... so even if 1 cracked.... u get it..

I think they crack becuase of road hazards, not inferior build quality.

oh definately i know it's not the build quality... but it's just not worht it to pay 2x the price just to get the "factory stalk" if the replicas perform just as well for lighting...

but gotta admit the factory stalk is pretty cool.

I don't think they are USDM OEM cause they should come with a stalk not a switch. I emailed the guy awhile ago if his is a stalk or a switch but no reply.

It's the JDM Accord replicas... that's why it comes with a switch, which is also true for the US Accord...

A stalk is like an extension from your steering wheel (like your headlight control stalk)

A switch is just an on/off button... on the "replica JDM units" the switch is a button that is mounted right next to the VSA button

The benefits of installing the kit with the switch is that you can run the foglights independently from the headlights.. so u can have them on at any time

with the OEM stalk unit, the original wirings were done so that the foglights are only on if the headlights are turned on, unless you do some custom wiring yourself

Does that mean the fog lights would always be on as long as your headlights are on? Is it possible to turn off the fog lights while the headlights are on?

I purchased a JDM fog light kit from eBay and it comes with a switch, which by what you're saying is actually better. But I'm just trying to understand how the fog lights would work if I originally got them installed by the dealership.

Stalk =
Headlight must be on to be able to turn on the fog lights. You can have the headlight on without the fog lights.

Switch=
Fog lights one and off anytime you want.

Got one of these JDM fogs as well through ebay...

its actually an 03 Accord fog kit but fits perfectly ... some of the wires need to be extended a little bit as they are to short for our cars...something any car shop can do...the button switch is better than the OEM stalk..

For us canadian guys...these fogs can be turned on with the DRL lights on whereas the OEM fogs, they can only be turned on when the HID lights are on...

On a side note....want to protect it from cracking? Get some 3M headlight clear bra and it will protect the glass from shattering/cracking...

1) So the Replica non-OEM fog Lights (the ones with the switch by VSA) Can be turned on anytime? With Parking lights too?

2) Anyone actually done this? Hows the installation process? Easy to follow instructions provided in box of fog lights?

If u search on ebay "tsx oem jdm" these are the fog light kits which everyone is getting. They can be turned on with the parking lights on. They are not replica honda parts as these are lights from the 03 honda accords.

The box does come with instructions and not hard to follow...if u search here u can find a member that did post some pics up (cant remember the name though)
