Cool Ebay CAI

Anybody use one on the TSX? Im not shelling out $200 for a piece of pipe with a filter at the end. Any insight on the fitment of it?

$80 shipped....

If you want any meaningful input on this, you'll need to provide a link to the product in question.

And for my input, without even needing to see the link: the TSX isn't a 1994 Civic DX, so don't put cheap, shitty parts on it. Mod it right or don't mod it at all.

I dont give a rats A about name brand parts. If it performs and lasts, thats all i need. Shoot, all the parts on my supra were off ebay and my car made 430hp. I didnt even spend $1000 on that set up.

Like I said before, its a piece of pipe with a filter at the end. If a "name brand" one makes 10 more hp than a Ebay one, it MIGHT be worth the cost. But if the ebay one is only a couple hp shy of a $200 one, it is money well spent/saved.

Hey! Give it a shot. $55 won't break your back. Like you said: a piece of pipe with a filter at the end.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Constructive comment: the only thing I'd be wary of with a cheaper model like that is the battery mount (the piece coming off the tubing for stabilizing the unit on the battery tie-down). That's a high-stress area and I've seen it break on Fujita CAI's (and Fujita are a reputable brand). I'd worry about that part on the eBay model.

Thank you for the info. Not a big deal if it snaps off. I can just weld it back on and add some support to it.

I plan painting the intake pipe to color match the car but im not sure.... car is CGP.

My only worry with an ebay intake is the filter quality, fitment and the battery tie down mount.

My
buy it, let us know about the quality and fitment, then I can go and buy it then add an oil-free filter to it and enjoy.

I recommend the AEM DryFlow filter. I've been running one on my Injen CAI for the last year. It's solid.

ditto on Audioserf's comment....I'd probably look to get the pipe and then get a proper K&N or AEM filter.

Otherwise, if you have a 430 hp supra, I don't see why your own judgement can't be right. Looks good enough to me.
