You have a 6MT, right? That's an impressive number to put down on a Mustang.

Yes, it's a 2006 6MT and the run was done in 4th gear (I would assume that doesn't matter much but ). The graph on the printout was super crappy so I put the raw numbers into Excel and made my own:

I was shocked at the result myself, but TOV's dyno of a 2006 5AT shows a peak of 175whp SAE on a Dynojet, which leads me to believe that the 2006 TSX has somewhat reduced drivetrain losses in addition to increased power.

Hey~
Do you know your stock hp/tq??? Since every car is different it's better to compare the "header" dyno w/ your baseline dyno.

Not really. It's just a little hissing sound when you get on the gas. It is only lower in the rpms it seems like. My CAI drowns out all sound at 4000-5000 rpms.

I'm also interested if anyone else has post-header dyno's for this one. Seems like a good option for the cost, but I want a few other opinions before I make the change.

$105 for a torque/hp curve, $155 if you also want A/F readings. That is for 3-4 pulls, they did 4 for me. Sorry I haven't put these in yet, been spending all my time getting my Empeg in there but I finally got it sorted yesterday so I'll be putting the headers in this weekend most likely and dynos the following week.

I did a dyno at Ultimate Performance in Dulles for $50, 3 pulls, on a k-series "dyno day". most places will do cheap prices for a dyno day if you're willing to wait for one to come around

doh

well i tried to install this header today but can't manage to unbolt the stock exhaust manifold from the cat. there's not enough clearance for a breaker bar unless i were to lift the car significantly higher than my jack can lift it, and i don't have an impact (not even sure if i'd be able to get one in there anyway). gonna have to give up on it for now and reattach the stock EM so i can at least get to work tomorrow, maybe i'll get an impact and try again Tuesday.

Can you double-wrench it? I would think that if you've soaked it good with PB Blaster (or an equivalent), two wrenches and some manual impacting should do the trick.

Yeah, the bolts to my stock exhaust manifold were on there pretty tight. Luckily, my car was on my friend's lift, so we had plenty of clearance for a breakerbar. If you have access to a lift, go for it....it makes life so much easier.

I'm not sure if two wrenches will fit but I'll give it a shot.

Hi, I might want to give this header a shot. At $170 it is a very good deal. And it seems that it doesnt have any issues or problems at all. Is the header the same as this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...46388224QQrdZ1

Thanks!!!

I just installed mine and I didnīt feel anything, but I got a hissing sound when I floor it? I tried tightening the all the bolts except the bolts on the block, and I still get it so itīs gotta be from either the sensor hole or where the header attaches to the block? I donīt wanna tighten the bolts on the block much more, scared of ruining something

weīll see if I improved when I go to the track next

I didnīt go to a dyno before so I wonīt be able to do a before and after, but maybe my 1/4mile will improve and tell us of some improvements

You didn't feel anything at all???? Did you feel the car are more responsive on throttle? I don't think it will improve your 1/4mile time that much, but throttle respone should be more sharp than before. If it feels exactly like stock, something is wrong?

Well the hissing sound is normal. This header is essentially a stainless steel copy of the DC header. The hissing is because the flex pipe doens't have mesh in the inside and is ribbed metal. I don't see how you didn't feel gains? My car pulled way better, especially down low, when I installed the header.

Be advised that the seller in that auction says "no international shipments except Canada". Just a FYI.

I think the hissing sounds kinda cool. You get used to it though....now I don't even notice it really. My exhaust seems to rattle now when idling sometimes...but I think it is simply just vibrating against that metal shield thing, above the muffler.

Curik, yes, that is the header I have.

there might be some slight better overall feeling in the car but nothing to really tell about!
and I did a search and I found out that about the hissing, but thanks anyway for clearing that up for me
and yes the hissing doesnīt sound all that uncool, just thought I had a leak and was a bit worried?

I will be receiving my K&N typhoon real soon, weīll see if the 2combined wonīt give me a better impression

did your '06 euro-s get the same breathing improvements as the '06 US TSX? I probably could have searched; sorry I'm feeling lazy this morning. Just wondering if it would make a performance difference as I'm still looking at this header. So far my only engine mod is the icebox.

the new dc header has an 02 sensor placement change. i got an extension harness with it (manufact. june06). i originally got one that was slightly damaged (manufact. aug 05) that did not come with the harness and had a slightly different placement. I think the SS steel copy has the old placement.
