DIY interior lighting
The first thing you need is some lights I got four LEDs
I needed some extra wire for mine so i got some wire and made a wireing harness.
Then I went to the car and took out the tray thats above the " this is not an ashtray" you can do this by putting the shifter all the way down to D3. Put fingers under tray and pull slowly put tough and then it should come out.
Pull out the green light and cut the wires closest to the light bulb.
connect positive to positive and negitive to negitive
I took off the kick panels (driver side there is an extra screw) and threaded the wires and lights through stuck the lights on and hide the wires and replaced kick panle
pictures of them tonight I hope this is helpfull

Not a bad attempt - maybe a little fine grade sandpaper to remove the focal point of the beam would help even the light out better.
The green light you removed - what was it backlighting? The cigarette lighter ring?
You could've left in place and just spliced into the wiring.
Could you do a shot from the back seats with the dash lit, just to see the contrast?

the green light was to the try thats above not an ash tray. I tryed the sandpaper and it seemed to dim it a little and i like it the way it is. The LEDs can be moved there like a flex tip and i will have pics tomorrow hopefully

A couple of suggestions:
1) Get a couple of diffusers for the bulbs. It'll help soften up the light by allowing it to spread more.
2) I would have chosen to mount it in a more inconspicuous location so that it looks more "from the factory."
It was a good first attempt, I'll give you that.

Let me help you!
not too bad for a 1st time. The searchlight effect isn't to my liking. If someone sits there, then it'll just be lighting up their feet/legs. I think it's better if the light is more diffuse, and you aim it closer to the firewall. That way, it'll be more visible, even if someone is sitting there.

Something sort of like this. Its bright out so you cant really see the light intensity but I want to dim it because it is too bright for my taste. I like your set up (2 leds)but you need to make it a little cleaner and you didnt have to cut off the light in the cubby..
