Differences between injen and k&n cai....
I've been doing some research about the two cai systems for our car and the only difference I found was that the injen intake has a slightly larger diameter tubing than the k&n. I think this makes the injen a better intake cause of more air flow. The aem v.2 cai people seem to be waiting for isn't anything more than a regular cai system with a large diameter tubing. So even if aem comes out with their v2 for the tsx, im guessing it'll be around the same injen... can anyone else let me know if there are any differences between the k&n and injen cai?
K&N comes with a filtercharger.
Does anyone know if the actual K&N filter (that comes w/the typhoon filter) will fit on the Injen? Also are the Injen filters washable/re-usable? If they aren't I'm wondering if you could replace the Filter element with K&N one when it needs replacing (since most K&N filters are washable/reusable). . .
larger tubing doesnt always mean more power...or more airflow velocity has a big effect on how well the engine breathes. Im not sayin K&N is better or worse just dont judge an intake just by the tubing. sound resonance has alot to do with the flow of air as well. so the bends in the tubing diameter length of tubing all make a difference.

lol... I'm so bored at work I called all the intake companies to get their intake specs... Here's more info i found....
aem v2. has 100mm diameter tubes
injen 72mm
k&n 65mm
... filtercharger?.... -_-
that filter charger looks like it'll protect your engine well at the expense of DECREASED airflow... I would do without it, just dont go puddle hoping with your car
as for the air filter for injen cai, injen said that they used to use k&n filters but not anymore. They use their own filters which are designed pretty much the same as the k&n ones. I think k&n's oiled cotton filter design patent ran out, which is why aem and injen do not use their filters anymore and use their own copy cat design of the k&n filters...
and yes, the injen ones are reusable as long as you clean them like the k&n ones

I really don't think that if you use AEM, Injen, K&N or whatever you decide on, is going to make any huge differences. IT'S JUST ALL MARKETING. They all are going to produce about the same power. Getting intakes and exhaust is important but just them both or even just an intake isn't going to improve much. So I just suggest you to go on whichever one you can get for the cheapest and just stick with that.
P.S. Remember, we don't drive American Muscles so an intake isn't going to do much unlike them!!!
I agree with JeffTSX. The difference in performance from one CAI to another is so small that you will never notice it. I would suspect the quality of them is also very close. Go with the cheapest one. K&N has great instructions on line if you are doing it yourself. Plus you do get the filter wrap and get to pick your favorite color. Either way, the CAI should make for some cheap HP and Torque.

on AEM V2, I don't think it should even be considered until its out. It took forever for them to even get a SRI out. I like the K&N cause of the pretty colors :ghey:
