since i've read somewhere in this forum that we can use civic si and rsx type-s gears/synchros in our tranny, what's the difference between those third gears and ours. i've been trying to get an oem third gear but those have been on back order for months now and if it's easier and basically the same for me to get the other gears and synchros i figure i'd get those.

Just google RSX-Civic Si (same ratios) vs. TSX gear ratios. One the 3rd gear is like 1.3 and the other is 1.5 it makes a difference when third is 1.0 . It is much easier to swap gears from a 09 TSX which has ratios almost identical to the Civic Si setup.

 

If anyone is interested here are differences between 2006 and 2009 TSX:

2009 TSX
1st gear 3.27
2nd gear 2.04

Looks like the best of both worlds would be to swap gears 2, 3, and 4 from 2009 into 2006.
