I could really use 50HP but for the 6-7K needed I'd rather get another car.

If you've got under 30k miles on the TSX you could sell it and take at most a $2k hit (not including the value you've got form the car). Subtract that from the 6 grand price of an installed supercharger and you're back at square 1 shopping for a $33,000 car. What can you buy that's going to outperform a 275 hp TSX?

/totally agree though that there's not much value in the superchager but the stock TSX is such a steal that the combo could be worth it

Theres definently value in this for some and I can see Comptech selling a ton. Its just not for everyone.

Would the hondata reflash be wasted on this?

Debuting on the 04+ TL and
TSX Supercharger Kits is the
state-of-the-art Comptech
Advanced Control Module
(ACM). An industry first; the
Comptech ACM lowers V-TEC,
Adds Injector Duration to Enrich
Fuel, Filters the Knock
Sensor, Manages MAP Sensor
Voltage, and Adjusts Cam-
Phasing. The combined result
is a vehicle with unparalleled
performance, drivability, and
reliability.

Good question..

Also just cause it's Comptech, and might be installed by a Acura dealership, doesn't mean the car is gonna stay reliable. So many parts that aren't capable of handling the added power , are subject to braking. Clutch will most likely need to be upgraded....so add that to the list of bull. by havin a serious mod to your engine......i'm still holding out for the Hondata on my 05 ECU' then seein what shows up down the road....

Honda should buy the Comptech company like Mercedes AMG and have a high performance model in the Acura car line up

So is Comptech re-falshing the ECU as well? And if so why not develop one like Hondata for non-SC applications.

Ya, I can't see it on the comptech website either. All I see is that the TSX supercharger is "under development" in the "what's new" section.

It's practically the same kit as the RSX so you can use that as a baseline price.

It doesn't sound like this piggyback unit has anything to do with hondata. It'ss surprising because I know hondata has done supercharger maps for the K24A2. I thought comptech would use them but it seems they've gone a different route...

Did anyone else catch the article on page 2 about the Tri-Point Mazdas running in Speed WC running Comptech built engines and gearbox adapters?

For that much $$$, it's not worth it to me. Happiness for me is through the gains of the Hondata reflash. I'll wait until I get my new S2000 if I want more fun for that much more money spent.

When I talked to one of the Comptech guys yesterday, he said they have developed their own piggyback ECU.

I'm not dumping $10k for 50 hp on a FWD car in this case. I'd rather do it to an S2K. At least it's been a proven success for the Comptech blower kit (provided it was installed properly and they actually bought a complete kit new with the reinforced diff housing).

I don't think any driveline or tranny parts would need upgrading, 'cept maybe the clutch. Civic/Integra components can handle up to 300hp before they need reinforcement. My JR supercharged 'Teg happily drove 80,000miles with a boost upgrade @ 9psi. The bearing on my SC went bad before any of my cars components. Even the clutch... tho' it did slip a few times...

Is the $6k figure being tossed around including the addition of the aftercooler? Because that is certainly not the price of the base blower.
