comptech short shifter problem!?!

i'm having trouble with the metal clip that holds the shift cable down, i got it out but now i'm having trouble sliding it back in. accruespstar, or anyone else with the a short shifter...are there any specific methods to putting it back in? did u use a certain tool or anything? i got it to slide back down but not all the way down, its like halfway down right now. any feedback would be helpful, thanks.

yea that thing was a b*tch. i used a long nose 90 degree bend plier to wedge it out. to put it back on i just used that same plier to push it down.

you really dont need to remove that clip to get the short shifter on. after i removed it i found that it was pretty much uneccesary to have it removed. you can still get the shift cable off of the shift lever. you might want to take a look at the neuspeed shifter instructions. same install same product but they skip the clip step.

thanks bro. i didn't have the crazy kung fu grip needed to push that clip back in so the mechanic at the honda dealer helped me by using a big flat head and hammer. worked like a charm.
