I was thinking crank hp.

The S/C for the the TL is putting down an extra 45hp to the wheels but they've got two cylinders and 800cc's of displacement on us.

If comptech thinks the TSX S/C is putting out more power than they were expecting I can see it matching the TL but I would be impressed if it surpassed it.

my roommate''s h22 prelude w/ JSRC and 8lb pulley put down 280hp to the wheels w/ all boltons and no ECU swap (ie: minimal fuel management, just VAFC). i was shocked, but showed me that you can definately squeeze a lot out of a 4 banger.

dang.. so JSRC is a better company than comptech when it comes to s/c and it should give out more power than them as well?

I wouldn't say they're better, and jrsc hasn't said a peep about the TSX while comptech is actually doing something.

I'd wait for the product to be released before I passed judgment like that.

I've never seen a comptech SC for a prelude, so I couldn't compare companies. I'm just saying what's possible w/ a 4 cyclinder. If comptech says its making more than expected, then +80hp could be possible.

my turbo sounded like an airplane with a rumble in the back ground...i miss that sound...just a 3 in down pipe with no exhause or anything hahaha the only thing that sucked was that the pipe stopped just at the back of the oil pan...so all the fumes came right into the car...gave me a headache after driving to frisco from SD lol

just thought I'd give you guys an update. I spoke w/ryan at comptech this morning. Looks like they won't have anything out until end of the year at the earliest.

If they are smart, they wouldn't release the SC until the proper fuel management is available, such as Hondata. The idea fuel setup for the TSX would be stock fuel pump, stock fuel pressure regulator running stock fuel pressure, larger injectors plus Hondata (or equivalent) to control the injectors and keeping the injector duty cycles low. This will keep the setup much simpler and more effective without the noise normally associate with an aftermarket fuel pump and complicated fuel return system modification.

jackson racing said they are in the process of doing a tsx also they have the manifold done and the brakets to install it all now then need to flash the ecu waiting on hodata so i guess there will be 2 superchargers to choose from when they come out , david

Also note that this confirms a roots-type supercharger setup. This means it will provide positive displacement at very low RPMs. In effect, see the low RPMs range receive a significant increase in power with minor gains in the upper RPM range.

I would bet that JR is going to make more power...And i hope that its not just minor gains on the top end...thats when the turbo cars go flying past you...that 1.5 car lead isnt going to be enough then =)

when u say minor gains... how much difference are we looking at compared to the low end gains. also anyone had previous experiences with these two companies and their superchargers... how was the ride, how was the power gains.. is it a BIG difference. is it worth the money?

Hasport's K24A3 (our TSX engine is the performance K24A2) uses a Type-S head and a Jackson Racing supercharger. It puts down almost 300 whp. It is very possible therefore to get a full 300 whp out of our engine with this mod. BTW I can't f***ing wait! Somebody please give me some forced induction.

Based on past Comptech Superchargers, figure about a 15-20% increase in overall horsepower (very flat curve).

This means you'll probably have a peak horsepower around 240hp and a good median torque of 200ft-lbs. Rough guess of course (please note these are crank HP).

hmm a RSX type S owned by someone on here has 280 whp with the J/R supercharger...if comptech can only produce 240 whp thats sad... we even have lower CR so we could take a lil more boost =)
