Comptech replacement parts
Comptech replacement parts
While I was having my TSX serviced I talked with the advisor about the TSX suspension. I asked him how often they install Comptech sway bars in TSX's and he made it sound like it was very common. I then asked him about the impact to the warranty, and he said that Honda/Acura will warranty any part that is faulty provided that Comptech parts are installed. What he means is that if I have a Comptech sway bar installed, and another piece of the rear suspension breaks, they will not use the Comptech part as an excuse. He said that wouldn't be the case if a different brand of part was installed.
Has anyone else had this explanation from their dealer?

I've heard about this too... but at the same time, I think it's dealer specific. There are only a handful of Acura dealers in my state (NJ) that are ALSO licensed Comptech dealers/installers. I believe those dealerships will honor any warranty work, even if Comptech aftermarket parts are involved. However, if I ever walked into the dealership where I purchased my car? I can almost unequivocally say that I'd be shxt out of luck! They take a taboo stance on aftermarket parts... I remember asking one of the guys how to access the bulbs in the OEM fog lights so that I could change them, and he immediately warned me that if anything goes wrong, I would not be covered under warranty...
That's awesome that your dealership will cover Comptech parts; I wish I had the same luck. Now go out and get the sway bar!!!!
