composite or ceramic

i've tried to search for some type of comparison, but couldn't find anything...

i'm thinking about Hawk Pads....they seem to be right around the same price

Hawk Performance - ceramic
Hawk HPS - composite

I want to have more bit, and not too much dust....

Has anyone out there had any experience with both of these, or either one ?

Thanks.

I have the same questions, after doing some search, the only difference i'm able to find is reduced dust on the ceramic. Still not very certain on performance aspect and noise. So hopefully some will be able to shine some light on this issue.

I think it depends on how much dust you're willing to tolerate. I have the HPS pads (front and back), and they definitely are dirtier than the OEM pads. Nothing obnoxious, but you'll definitely notice the difference. I've heard that the ceramics are cleaner, so that may be the way to go for you.

I'm very pleased with the HPS pads. They're quiet and definitely improve the braking performance (I also have RacingBrake rotors in front). I'm willing to deal with the increased dust -- it's an acceptable tradeoff in my book.

I think you'll be happy either way.

I try both and can tell you this:

1. Ceramic - less dust with no noticeable difference in stopping distance.
2. Composite - a lot of dust!!, more stopping power and wear quickly.

My to all

Take care

thanks for the help...

i think ceramic may be the way to go for me.....

if i think the OEM pads dust too much, then i'm sure i'd be overwhelmed with the composite
