Car Cover

Anyway, right now I'm like forced to park my car outside because theres no more space in the garage, so I've gotta decide on a car cover ASAP. I'm stuck between covercraft, and official Acura covers. Anyone have the covercraft version of the TSX car cover? Hows it compare to the genuine Acura cover? Thanks for any suggestions/inputs!!

Note: There is a difference of about 120 bucks between the two

Unless you keep your car clean 24/7, these can do more harm than good. But, if you do keep it clean all of the time, go for it. I would go with an Acura cover.

Yeah, I'd be great if i could get an elaboration on that.

I'll have my car washed at least once every two weeks & spray it /w quick detailing solution, and it'll have a properly cured synth wax job every 3-4 months. Will the dust bunnies be the culprit?? Thanks for any answers

Unless you QD it everytime before you put on the cover, your basically taking a cloth and rubbing the dry dust over your paint. It'll be swirl city in no time...

Like what sccpu3d said, putting a cover over a dirty car is not good for the paint because it will embed the dirt and dust into the paint and will eventually harm the paint.

In terms of the cover, I ordered mine from HandAaccessories.com. I got it for a much better price than the dealership out here wanted to charge me and it fits beautifully. I suggest getting the one made by Acura. I know mine is going to be to a lot of use when I got to college.

I read where the liner of the Acura cover helps protect against scratching and that it's washable. Hmm...I could give it a try I guess.

It helps prevent scratching caused by the cover but not the dirt under it.

After brushing the snow off of my car this morning, I'm very tempted to order a cover now and try and keep it clean 24/7 to prevent scratches. Then again, I just won't cover it when it's dirty.

The problem is you won't be able to keep it clean. One drive during a wet winter day and it'll be covered in salt. Unless you get it cleaned every day your screwed. Even then you have to get it back home without it getting dirty.

Any dirt or grime trapped between the cover and the car will be mercilessly scrubbed along the surface of your paint.

I think covers are best used in the garage as a means to keep dust off the car. Just keep your car washed and waxed and you'll be fine.
