CAI Install Check
CAI Install Check
I had a friend of mine help me with the install of this. I am a bit concerned that it may not be installed right.
If someone who has done this a few times could look at these pictures and let me know if anything is grosly incorrect i would apreciate it.
I had read some of the posts on installing before starting but parts of my stock intake seemed to be different than all the threads i read.
thanks

Some comments:
1) The second picture showing the top screw mount. There should be a big rubber washing thingy that srews onto that first. That way when the engine moves in the bay, you aren't stressing the rubber throttle body connector.
2) Frist picture. Just for looks/flow the two metal intake pipes could line up with each other a bit better. Should be fixed with the above comment.
3) The vacuum hose looks a little pinched off at both ends.
4) On mine (one of the very first) the MAF sensor close the the throttle body was right in the middle of the "elbow". Double check to make sure you don't have that rubber piece backwards.
5) You don't show it, but the intake/engine bay attachment bolt near the filter end of the intake should also be like #1.]
Other than those, it looks okay.
Bottom line right now...it will run, but could use some tidying up.
