Broken Comptech Static Tensioner

Hey guys, I broke my static tensioner this weekend. CT Engineering has great service, they discounted the part for me but they mentioned that the auto tensioner would be better for running the high boost pulley. I thought I had an auto tensioner but I guess I was wrong. The auto tensioner from CT Engineering is over $500 but it has less parts and it is Billet. Replacing the static tensioner is about $100.

They said I was the first TSX they know of that broke it but it was probably due to the extra stress of running a high boost pulley.

Shit, good to know. I'm on the static tensioner and plan to go 10psi next year. I guess adding an auto tensioner is a necessary addition to my planned modding expenses... glad CT-E took care of you.

Hey, don't blame the pulley .

Sorry to hear about your problem, man. I suppose the one consolation is that you can run an ETD with the auto tensioner if you choose.

Oh, I have no doubt of that... I've got plenty of mods left up my sleeve. Next year will be another big year for my car and you'll be the first guy I call when it's time to get the parts in order...

My static tensioner broke as well but this was before Comptech changed to CT, they took care of me and my situation as well. I have an auto-tensioner as my backup, still running on the replacement static tensioner..
