I have the Axxis Ultimates on my car right now and after 800 miles on them, I would highly recommend them. The bite is better than the stock pads, but there are no unusual sounds or odd sensations.

Plus, it doesn't hurt to flush your brake fluid at the same time.

I think I'm leaning in that direction. How's the dust?

I saw a new TL from a distance the other day and pointed out to my wife how he'd painted or powdercoated his rims gunmetal and told her I'd like to do the same. As he got closer I realized his front wheels were just dirty, really dirty.

Hawk HP+ - $107 at King Motorsports (Might be somewhere cheaperr but I don't know)

Cobalt GT Sports - $135 (Andie Might give you a discount like 10% off if you tell him Trey Referred you, but no promises). Worth every Penny at $135.

Of what you listed Axxis Ultimates are my second to last choice just ahead of EBC. I've used them on a Type-R and they were poor performers and created more dust thn high performance pads.

The only ones you listed I woudl use is the Hawk HPS. If I had my pic it woudl be the Cobalt GT Sport Followed by the Hawk HP+. Both the HP+ and GT Sport have better initial bite than anything listed and the GT SPorts wear better and modulate better than the HP+.

Another good brand if they make a pad for the TSX is Ferodo. I've only used tese on track but they were awesome.

Stillen Ceramic Matrix - $89

Anybody have any info on these? Ceramic pads will tend to generate a lot less dust, which is always cool.

Is it easy to install break pads on a TSX? Having the dealer do it costs quite a bit!

Yes, piece of cake. Make sure you have a C-clamp to push the piston back. When you change brake pads, inspect the rubber seal between the piston and the caliper.

Perhaps I'll give it a try when my breaks wear out, but that will probably be a while. I only have around 16k miles on my car right now. Someone post a DIY!!

i got the axxis ultimate, and i am greatly pleased, however there is brake dust, but they bit and hold like crazy, on the stock tires i was able to squeel the tires stopping from like 50mph, they have a lot of bite, with my aftermarket tires they stop like it just hit a wall

I'm a devotee of the GT-Sports also. Just tell Andie about being a Honda-Tech member (or better yet, join H-T) to get 10%.

I, personally, like the Ultimates, but mainly because they're cheap and make good rear pads. The Ultimates compare to Hawk HPS in that they're roughly equal in performance abilities, the Ultimates having GF DOT edgecode and the HPS having an FG edgecode, thus indicating Ultimates are better pads from cold and HPS do better when warm.

Bill I just spoke to Andie and he said "Club Price is 10% off" This will apply to Honda-Tech, ITRCA and I don't think there woudl be an issue saying from Acurazine as I metnioned that to him.

Price is definitely 10% off so it will be $121.50. He said there is a 2 week lead time as they just sold their last set (To me).

well the abs would kick in, and i didn't mean lock up, i meant it was applying so much force that the tire would squeel under the pressure put onto it, kinda like theshhold braking. i didn't mean the wheels would lock up, i meant that they would squeel from the force that the pads put on them.

I've worked for a while with Axxis Metal Masters. For the price and upgrade in braking, I'd say they were a pretty good bang for the buck. They were dustly as hell though, but what metallic pad isn't?

What I thought was really with that setup was that I lasted it for 175,000km on the same brake pads (on an AT what's more).

It would be cool to get a sticky of all the pad/rotor/lines/fluid out there and people's experiences with them.

Especially since a brake upgrade will probably be my next performance modification. :p

I find that Cobalt GT-sport doesn't seem to dust that badly, esp. when compared to Ultimates or Porterfield R4S.
