blah the rain

hey everyone.

i recently managed to get myself into a mess and crashed my car. what i need is help deciding what to do. i do not have much $, so i looked on e-bay, and found a kenstyle replica body kit for $700. in your opinion is it worth it? im worried "replica" = pos. idk if i should risk it or not.

the accident cracked my bumper, grill, and headlight. so i think the kenstyle will take care of the bumper and grill easily, but cannot decide if its a good idea. anyone have any experience on replicas?

for the second part, i saw a passenger headlight on ebay as well for $60. are headlight just plug ins? i hope so, in order to get that out of the way.
any help is greatly appreciated as i am confused, this being my 1st accident, 1st experience on modding, and i just want to do it right.

pics here: http://www.gman250.net/members/coobs/

PS it was worse, until i yanked the grill in place and into shape as it was under/behind the bumper and was in fact concave

I dont know why you didnt contact insurance, but a headlight for 60 dollars , seems a bit sketchy, and chances are the replica wont be as good as the real thing.I would just take it to a dealer and payup the extra cash somehow , it's worth it.

i didnt call the insurance, because both of us agreed to just settle it outselves. which is better for me since it wont get my rates up, and i was lookin towards changing the front anyway.

about the headlight...the seller has a good record so idk. i just finished taking the headlight out. anyone know the price the dealer will charge me for the unit? i really dont want to wait if i do get it off ebay and just have the car sit there.

lights are $350 each, a big rip off. you can buy the jdm ones for less. I wouldn't go for a replica kit however, they're likely made of fiberglass which is brittle and can crack extremely easy. Also it may not be a perfect fit which will require a shop molding it onto your car, a major headache. nocturnal may still be selling his real Kenstyle kit.

the headlight i found on ebay is 60, but without bulbs or wiring he says. the bulbs work so i guess ill just swap em...the lights work i just need a new case.

as for the body kit, the seller is telling me its a pretty good fit... idk what to believe.

as for nocturnal, i pm'd him, but doubt well be able to work anything out as i really dont have the $ for that kit.

Co0bs, replicas are always worse than the original and yes, there is a difference.

If you can't financially handle your losses, your best bet is to contact the insurance company.
