best place to get gauges?

sorry mods if i didn't search hard enough, but i ended up finding some 17 page thread that really didn't help. i was just wondering if anyone knew where the best places to get oil pressure, temp etc gauges, and if their were any pods for our cars. i saw a member that had something but i can't seem to find it. i was just curious, and does anybody have these and would recommend anything? thanks

you can buy gauges all over the internet. no car has specific aftermarket gagues like oil pressure and oil temp and what not. my suggestion for brands are stewart warner, autometer, or defi. there is no gauge pod for the tsx at all. the reason there are no pods available is that there are airbags in the a pillars of the tsx. I personally made my own pod mounts on the a pillar using the universal mounting cups found on egauges.com.

this is the only picture I have right now however cause it is the only one I have taken with them in the car so far and I am away at school right now so I cant get you anymore.

However honestly what are you putting gauges in at this point for. what else is done to your car that you would happen to need gauges. I am running a volt meter to keep an eye on my batter cause of my stereo and I have an oil pressure gauge only because of some plans I have soon. If that is the first mod you do to your car then I call it rice. if there is nothing else done to your car start else where. gauges on a stock car dont make you the cool kid on the block.

Gotta admit, if you're doing this as your first mod, it's going to be pointless. I have in mind some defi gauges in the future, but that'll be after I install an intake, RT Cat, and headers. Start your modding somewhere else or save your money. Gotta admit though, the defi gauges are orgasmic at night, they're beautiful.

I thought I gave somewhat good input, told him Defi Gauges are beautiful at night and during the day?

I agree with the defi gauges. They look awesome at night. But to add some opinion, I have never seen the point in gauges unless you are running boost. They just take up room and visibility unless you mount them somewhere below the windshield. Even then, a needless distraction.

Isn't there a triple pod for 52mm gauges that sits in front of the clock? I seem to remember somebody using one somewhere. Also if you remove the air bag in the A pillar you should be able to find a shop to mold some pods into the pillar form. It'll cost you though.

I think the Sport Comp II series Auto Meter makes will match the stock instruments pretty well. Defi gauges are nice and programmable but they cost all kinds of money to set up.

More information isn't bad. Besides, some gauges might be useful...I remember some speedometers are more accurate than the stock speedometer, and they can be programmed to flash a light whenever it's time to shift...(for 6MT's at tracks or whatever)

no there is no pod made for the tsx. a user bought the one for the euroR accord but you have to lose your clock. also since its meant for RHD cars it is slightly angled to the right.

Will the RSX steering wheel mounts fit on our car?

I'm thinking about getting an Autometer Cobalt Series Boost Guage.
Did you end up getting your Turbo setup Rmpage?

In progress. Last week I sent the manifolds, turbine housings, and intercooler out to get ceramic coated, and installed stiffer valve springs and pushrods. I'm waiting on APS to release their new twin pump fuel system at the end of this month before I get everything installed though. It's a spring project that will hopefully be completed by mid-May.

I do need to get some gauges though. Just want to make sure I can find something that matches the rest of the interior without looking overdone or ricey.

VDO manufacturers really nice guages, and you can install the aftermarket wise where the storage bin or not-an-ashtray are. They come with options to alter or match the factory blue colors of your other lights in the car. Depending on how much time you spend on them you can have them tilted a bit towards the driver too.

If you need any gauges, PM me. DEFI, Autometer, etc.

DEFI gauges are great gauges: accurate, eye catchers, Japanese made. They also can be linked together and have their info displayed on a meter.

Autometer also offers great gauges at less of a price tag.

I would recommend getting gauges if you need to monitor something important: boost, EGT, oil pressure, fuel pressure, etc
