Aux3 3-Input Adapter for 2005 TSX Nav

Anyone know where I can pick one of these up? It seems like this is the only thing that will allow me to add a DVD player, while still allowing me to keep my XM radio...

I know Elduderino was selling them, but he hasn't gotten back to some of the guys on the group buy threads, so I assume he's tied up in something at the moment...

I already have my RGB converter... DVD player is on the way... and I want to install everything soon. Can anyone help?

CJ… I thought the standard Soundgate and Blitzsafe adapters wouldn't allow me to use XM with my DVD player? The one Elduderino was selling was slightly modified? One of the tech support guys from Logjam said I would have to choose one or the other (XM or DVD), and that if I used a regular "Y" splitter, the sound quality would really be crap. I hope I'm just wrong on that though...

You are right, although if you wait a little while longer bliztsafe is coming out with one to allow aux and factory XM.

You have to connect rca jacks to the xm input on the bottom of the HU and then you can use the Soundgate Aux3. Mine works fine and I also have XM.

https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/finally-i-have-xm-my-auxillary-input-my-05tsexw-navi-312281/

There still is no plug and play adapters for this though.

Why not just do what some of the TL guys are doing, using a 4 pole relay or 4 single pole relays and a switch to toggle the output of the xm box in the trunk between the xm and the dvd input. I just ordered the relay and dvd player and converter and soon will be hooked up.

The Aux 3 comes with a built in switch and allows you to choose between 3 inputs. This way you dont need to build a relay circuit, you just attach 2 rca jacks to the plug and plug in the aux 3 and you're done! But either way works well i'm sure.

CJ... thanks for the links man --- they'll be really helpful if I decide to go that route...

Fury... any idea how long before Blitzsafe comes out with the plug and play? I'm willing to hold off a little bit, if it's not *too* long... otherwise, I'm just going to splice out the XM connections like CJ detailed in the other thread. I'd prefer the plug and play because it'd make it *a little bit* easier to part stuff out from the car if I decide to sell/trade down the line... well... that and the fact that if I'm going to have to get an adapter, I might as well get the "simpler" one

Meh... I guess if worse comes to worse, I could always just use the FM modulator in the meantime for my DVD until a plug and play adapter becomes available.

CJ... do you find it hard to reach for your switches on the dash when you want to switch back and forth between your nav/dvd or xm/aux? I was thinking of mounting mine right under the overhang of the center armrest...

No! It's no harder then opening the sun roof.
-The far right switch is for doms nav unit, I changed the switch and extended the wire for it. Switch from Radio shack.
-The switch to the left of it is the Aux3 switch. 3 way switch, up is for my PS2 audio, middle is for XM1 and 2, and down is for my Alpine TV tuner audio.

Aux3 has a main input (xm box rca jacks), main out (to HU) and then input A and input B.

CJ... how's the reception with your Alpine TV tuner? Are you happy with it? Where'd you mount it and its antenna? Do you have any pics of the antenna mount? Sorry for all the questions... I love your setup because it's so "clean". I'm not big into the "aftermarket appearance" of others' setups.

And uber thanks for all the help man --- You're saving me A LOT of time!

The reception is pretty good. When the vehicle is moving fast it gets a little statticy, like you're shaking the antenna on the side of the house. But in my driveway I pick up more stations than in my house. The TV tuner is under my drivers seat and the antenna is under the lining in the trunk lid. You can see both (2) antennas in this pic.

CJams did you notice any AM reception problems with your TV tuner antennas near the rear of the car? First I had them on my front windshield (Alpine), no problems. Then I moved them to the rear deck and I think they are interfering with the reception. AM only though. Now Im thinking about moving them to the trunk lid as well if that helps.

BTW: Blitzafe's expected product that is TSX/Navi/XM compatible does have some bugs which Blitzsafe has admitted. However they continue to sell and distribute the product and provide support as needed. Basically the unit doesnt always work and switch like it should. Blitzsafe is aware of the problem and says they are working on a solution but have no idea what it could be. Typical Blitzsafe if you ask me. This product was promised a year ago, its finally released and it doesnt always work properly. Blitzsafe says the are working on a fix, in reality they are still working on a true product that should work properly.
