I don't have photoshop at work, but this is my poor attempt in "color matching the chrome". I think it looks hot. I'm ordering the JDM hood trim, and just going to color match the rest of the chrome on the grill.

Looks hawt to me, go for it.. Why dont you just remove the hood trim and get it painted at the same time??

You bring up a good point. by getting that painted I'm almost positive that the paint shop will charge me more for having the hood trim painted as well. I figuered just buy the damn thing, which is about $50 bucks. And then later if I sell the car or get tired of this look, I'll just have to look for the OEM grill and put that one on. I'll be in the look out in the blackmarket section see if anyone is selling their OEM grill in the near future.

thats exactally I'm doing. I already have the mugen with the painted hood trim and oem trim. I'm just going to use the jdm trim and save the oem trim for later. just in case if I have to swap it back.

How much did this cost you?
I debated on doing this, but since I'm a freeway commuter, I'm worried that I'm going to get a bunch of chips. Even the bodyshop guys told me it would probably chip when I got a quote. Definitely let us know how yours holds up

I did this with mine. Sand the chrome off before you take it to the body shop. It will take a couple hours, but you'll save some money and the paint will hold up longer:

by the way, Mugen front lip is in transit
