AMS Tranny Fluid Update

So some of you will remember that 3 weeks ago I put Mobile1 gear oil in my tranny. At $16/quart I figured it would be great, but the car shifted like crap and would not go into gear untill the engine/oil was warm. I swapped to AMSOIL on Friday and the car shifts like it was new. to AMSOIL. Its a bonus that in our car it only takes about 15minutes to do. I did a Mazda once and it took 2 hours.

Two thumbs up for Amsoil, been running it in my MT and motor for over a year, love it. There are MT oil change instructions on here somewhere -- sorry, I had a scan of the bolts to remove but I 86'd it. Moda_way sent it to me a year or so ago.

You can get a terrific service manual at Helm Inc. worth the price if you're gonna work on the car yourself.

I thought Amsoil was one of the synthetics that attacked the yellow metals in Honda trannies?

Some clubrsx guys swear that it ate up their gears/synchros.

The RSX Type-S has an issue with the gears in the tranny regardless.

It would be hard to blame the Amsoil products for faulty factory parts, along with abuse of some individuals who have "spirited" driving habits
