Air intake
Air intake
I have an Injen CAI installed in my car right now, I am parting it out though. My question to you guys is how hard is the OEM intake installation? It looks a bit confusing since it has two boxes and stuff... Acura is asking about 140 on the install. A local dealership is asking 45 bucks on the install.. and I can also attempt to do this at home. Do you guys think this intake should be handled by Acura only, or should i trust this Aftermarket store near my house to do it. Im most likely not going to attempt this at home, since I just dont want to deal with the hassle. Plus, ima lazy guy with other things on my mind. So what yall think i should do?

Of course I've never tried to putting the thing back together, but judging from how hard it was to get out, I predict that it will be a bitch to get back on. My best advice is to take the bumper off. You'll probably have more room to maneuver. Good luck, Tsex.
Maybe you could talk to some people at your dealer. I know I can walk in to my service place and talk to the guys that do work on the cars there. They will do stuff for you off the books, or so to say. Then you have a certified tech working on your car and might cost a case of beer.
Yeah, taking the bumper off is prob the easiest route... prob not all too dificult to put the stock airbox back in...Im planning on when the time comes selling the car w/ all the parts in it, and the OEM parts in the trunk...for if whoever buys it changes their mind

Im gunna take it to speed zone, the owner has a bad ass TL, he knows his acura's and im sure it shouldnt be a problem with him. Plus, he's the same guy whose gunna swap my ground control coilovers for the OEM springs. everything will be on sale after that, gotta get things organized first.
putting back the stock intake is easy - if you have a lift haha.
otherwise, getting that resonator behind the bumper is a bitch.
i would just reinstall the top part of the stock intake. they would never know anyway. unless you sell it to a dealer. but it's not like they are goin to take alot off of your car for doin that.

Didn't you keep all your oem stuff when you put the aftermarket pieces on? You should always keep your springs and what not, for when you sell the car you get more for it being stock and you can sell the aftermarket stuff to make a little money back. Just a sugestion

I dont know I dont think it would be that hard to do yourself if you take the bumper off. I mean I installed my own Injen CAI and I didnt think it was that hard. Also there are some hoses that are moved to different positions when you install the Injen CAI so you have to move those back to where they were at.
