adding a header noticeable with Hondata

Most ppl say the header is vital if you have Hondata. I currently have Hondata + the Comptech ICEBOX. anyone add a header after getting Hondata, and notice a difference? I'm sure on the dyno it will give a few ponies, but wondering if you guys felt the increase in power going from CAI + Hondata, to CAI + HEADER + HONDATA.

Well, having installed the Header, Cat and cat-back, I noticed a huge difference, so I gotta believe that Hondata takes advantage of it. I don't have it YET and wish I did. I'm also running a K&N sans the resonantor setup, so the ICEBOX + Hondata would definitely be the next mods on my list.

Why do most people say CAI?

I mean, do you really need a CAI, or can a SRI or maybe a drop-in filter work?

Otherwise, it'd be more relevant to say intake+header+hondata

you're right, intake works, althought CAI usually yields higher gains. so for comparitive purposes i said CAI.

After having Jesse @ Team Honda install my Comptech header, I immediately gunned it when jumping on the 5 South from Beach Blvd.

Wow.

The growl was more distinct and the RPMs definately reward you more due to improved breathing.

If you do get the Comptech, keep in mind that it requires you to re-use the manifold gasket. While I was concerned of a leak at first, I didn't run into any problems nor have I heard of any member encountering a leak.

I have CAI/DC header/RT cat and Hondata and the biggest difference was the cat. The CAI and header made a difference in the pull and (of course) the sound, but it was the cat that allowed everything else to work and the car pulls much harder than stock. That combination produced about 24 whp or about 30 bhp on my car and I couldn't be happier for about $1200.

Add in UR pulleys and an intake manifold gasket for another, say, 10 whp, and I think I'm done. (Yeah, right.)

My observation when installing the CT header is the A-pipe hanger is mounted slightly lower than the factory hanger. It seems to stress the rubber slightly downward. So look out for wear and tear on the hanger over time.
