4-1 header

Hi guys,

What do you think about custom 4-1 header, I have this tuner ( better one in my country?? ) who claims to me that the power is better with 4-1 than 4-2-1 header on the tsx. Any expirience?

Thanx

Stock is a 4-1 header. The collector is the biggest issue. Our issue is the fact that the collector pipe may not be large enough and on top of that flow could be an issue.

But I do think that 4-2-1 Exhaust headers are better because it allows better exhaust flow. Any companies that make any good exhaust manifolds for the K24???

Isn't an exhaust manifold the same thing as an exhaust header?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

pretty much.

Header is a group of single pipes (primaries) meeting at a common collector or collectors.

Manifold is usually one sold mass (cast) with passeges for the flow leading to a downpipe rather then a collector.

The stock TSX manifold is more of a header IMO then a true manifold. B18-GSR, Prelude, and Accord 4cyl. pre-2003 all had true cast manifolds.

The DC header is actually pretty good, i just put it on my car, and believe me, the gains are noticable. The quality of the header is good as long as you dont damage the ceramic coating on it. The only complaint i have about the header is the annoying hiss noise that happens when you drive, it sounds like a turbo, and its frankly kind of rice. The greddy SP2 exhaust should cancel that out once i get it put on.

No, DC has a 2" diameter, and stock doesn't count, since its only at the manifold to a-pipe, and if you looked inside of it to see the runner configuration (4 small runners side by side) you'd see the effective diameter is even smaller. Then, it still goes to 2" because thats the diameter of the stock cat opening.
