Just curious if anyone's installed a 3" custom or custom fitted a catback for another vehicle...

I just purchased a 5zigen catback for a Mitsubishi Evo viii at a crackhead price and curious if I will be the first

few more details

Cannon Ball Series Cat-Back Exhaust System
Fits Turbo Models Only
Large Aggressive Rear Tips
Minimal Bends for Optimal Exhaust Flow
Powder Coated Steel Piping
Polished Stainless Steel Muffler

IMHO, its a bit useless unless u have a serious setup like tsxdriver. I mean RT cat's pipes are 2.25 in. wide in diameter and similar goes for header. That is sort of a bottle neck compared to the 3in. pipe. So why 3 inches in the back? Anyone cares to explain ?

Tsxdriver any pics of the undercarriage...?

Valeratj... This is going to be a 3" catback from the turbo back... Not for n/a by any means, although I may install it from the header back before the turbo is on

Ps. Price of the catback $199

well you will laugh at this one...
I have yet to purchase the car.... just stock piling parts now... going back and forth with excelerate over prices and what he can get... pretty much he can get anything so I am just buying stuff so when I finally pickup the car from wherever I will throw the parts on it

right now I've got air fuel and boost guage and a cf gauge pod for a pontiac gto which I am going to custom fit on the dash
4 x enkei nto3+m in 18x7.5
the 5zigen turbo catback discussed above
I also bought a couple small things which are like must haves, a skunk2 shift knob and a comptech short shifter...

I want to get a clutch before I even buy the car because I really cannot drive a stock clutch its like driving an automatic... so excelerate's going to get me a stage 4 clutch combo with the lightweight flywheel... I'd get stage 5, but I actually may have to parallel park this thing on occasion

I thought about doing this with a HKS Ti exhaust for an EVO.

There's an 05 PWP 6MT selling at Paragon for about $18,085, with about 16k miles

here are the pics... it is all mandrel bent, combination of migwelds and tig welds... mig welds on the area powdercoated black.... tig welds on the area polished ss....

the entire catback weighs in at under 40lbs, the tip is very stealthy and the muffler is straight thru, didn't think it was from the design, but hey more power.... overall I am pleased with my $199 investment

I ordered a U bend from magnaflow, but looking at this catback, looks like all I need is a foot of 3" SS

huge ass box... few pics posted for you guys to enjoy

ps. this is straight jdm product, not even 1 word of it is in english, the only thing I can read is "made in japan" and "5zigen"

Personally, I would order the Magnaflow 3" race muffler, a length of SS pipe, resonator, one or two SS U bends, SS hangers, SS flanges and weld them together for a much better fitting system.

sounds kinda like my custom exhaust except my piping is aluminum for weight reduction. as a matter of fact, my entire dual exhaust setup is lighter than most single units (including 5zigen)

quick diagram of what needs to be done

it's going to cost me $75 to modify this catback

when i did a 100% custom 2.5" single exit on my tl-s it cost me $250 + muffler + resonator + flanges
