06 MT reflash available in 1 week

The Hondata 06-TSX reflash for manual transmission is available from the 27th February.

We are looking for an auto 06 TSX for testing in Southern California. Contact Hondata and ask for Doug.

The 06 responds a little better than the 04 due to its improved breathing (cams, valves, exhaust, throttle body etc.) In stock form the 06 TSX reflash gains 32 hp at 6000 rpm compared to the 04/05 gaining about 24hp.

Full information here:

http://www.hondata.com/reflash_tsx_06.html

Picture here:
Before: 06 TSX with stock intake and header
After : 06 TSX Reflash with stock intake and header

32 hp on stock components! I can't even begin to imagine what the 06 could do with the basic bolt-ons!

Speaking of 05 AT, did Hondata abandon this group?

Doug, in the information, you guys say that the 06 intake charge suffers some from the heat off the block and that one of the heat shield gaskets is recommended. Does the 04/05 heat shield gasket fit the 06 without issue? I still have the one I got from when I had my 04 AT reflash fixed and I'm wondering if I can install it.

That would suck if they do, but I doubt that's the case. If the SC is being made for the 05 ATs as well, we would need a reflash from hondata as well. Thus they would have to have the ECU cracked.

However, I've asked about the 05 5at in the other thread though, and got no answer. Any insight on this, Hondata?

I got a feeling they are going to work on the 06 AT first hoping that once they crack the 06, the 05 will be right behind just like how the 05MT and 06 MT 's are.

downside is if they can crack the 06 AT and the 05 AT is still different..then they just might abandon it.

Doubt that's the case. They were looking to get an 06 AT for testing so I imagine that they already have something worked out for the 05 AT, but are waiting for final testing before release.

The 04, 05, and 06 AT/MT all use the same injector base gasket p/n: 17105-RAA-A01. So the Hondata heat shield gasket should work.

Whatever. I’m shocked and chagrined, mortified and stupefied about no 05AT reflash.

Seriously, I don’t know why I’m feeling this butt-hurt over something so stupid, but I am.

God bless you hondata people. Thanks for keeping us posted doug. When your 2006 AT reflash is available I will be in the front of the line.

So much for my new stereo system, that's gonna have to wait another month. $$.

We never said anywhere that we would not make an 05 AT reflash. What we did say that we would continue to try. However we are releasing reflashes in the order that we are capable.

One option we have for the 05 AT is to provide an 04 ECU with reflash for the 05 AT. That would of course be more expensive as it includes the ECU. I would expect a price of about $1250. You would retain your stock ECU and could sell the reflashed 04 ECU at a later time.

Does this mean the Comptech Supercharger for the 2006 MT is not far away?

Due to the many hardware changes, bigger throttle and intake camshaft, for example, Comptech will need to fit a supercharger to an 06 TSX and we will need to check the ECU calibrations.

06 Performance changes

Here are two dynos demonstrating the performance changes of the 06 TSX.

The first compares a stock 04 TSX (dotted blue) to a stock 06 TSX (solid pink) .

The second compares:

Solid blue - 06 TSX with reflash
Dotted yellow - 04 TSX with reflash intake and headers

As you can see the changes to the 06 TSX are equivalent to the intake and headers on the 04 as long as both have a reflash.

Wow...can those numbers be correct?

The 06 gained 20 hp over the 04/05 model!

This is going to be an interesting dyno tomorrow.

Finally we get to see the concrete data regarding improvements to MY 2006. All that intake tract work seems to have got you guys a slightly lower VTEC point too.

1250?? Okay, this is the first time I have regretted getting the 05 5at. Does this mean the SC for the 5at will have similar problems?

Thanks for the update, Im still hoping you guys crack this ECU and still charge the same price everyone else is getting.

Is 05 MT reflash available with the ECU for sales? I am guessing that it would be around 1250 aslo.

My thoughts is to have 2 ECU - 1 hondata and 1 stock. and convert back to stock when i want to. like when i take my car for mod not friendly Acura dealer.

Seems the stock 04 MT dyno above is lackluster (slightly) as compared to this one: http://www.hondata.com/images/dynots...vs-reflash.gif (purple/red is stock 04 MT dyno).

Not a significant difference between the 2 plots but the one hondata posted above seems to understate the 04 dyno ever so slightly after the VTEC point of 6000 rpm.

We are looking at the options here, but we need to do more testing. Can we have one ECU operate the 04, 05 and 06? For example will the 06 ECU work the 04 and 05?. Will the ECU work on overseas 200 hp K24 Accords?

sho-one - Can you install just the cam?

- No. You need other breathing improvements to make the cam work - especially the exhaust improvements to reduce backpressure

CGTSX2004
Allowing for variations between cars I would predict a minimum of 15HP gain from a stock 04 to a stock 06.

Correct. Good observation. I chose to compare two TSX's that had less than 1000 miles. Your illustration is from a TSX that had about 2500 miles and an oil change. A 3-5 HP variation is common. On similarly configured RSX-S cars we found a 15 hp variation.

I have 05 MT. I want to know if I can buy a 05 MT reflashed ECU without sending my stock ECU. i.e buying the actual ECU ( reflashed) and pop it in my car.

There should be no problems with the ECU as I have an 05 AT with the hondatafied 04 AT ECU. Works perfectly.

As far as we can see, the main difference with the 05 ECU is that it contains the VIN number of the vehicle. Some smog test stations in the future may require this VIN number. In that case you could just plug your 05 ECU back in.

The MT 05 ECU performed identically to the MT 04 ECU in our dyno tests. I would expect the same of the Auto.

Edit. From the previous post, it appears that someone has already tested that this works well.

hondata - are there any plans for a K-Pro option for the 06' TSX?
