04-05 ballasts don't fit 06-07 JDM headlights
While I was trying to change from my 04 USDM headlights to the new 06 JDM headlights I found out that the 04-05 balasts doesn't fit the new 06 JDM headlights. There is no possible way to make it fit since the balasts is smaller for the 06 JDM headlight. Has anyone else run into this issue? I am hating the 06 JDM headlights right about now.

Totally different balasts, I need to get a hold of the 06/07 balasts. I see they are about $215 for each one. I also can't locate any on ebay either.

you will need 06-07 ballasts and also can use 06-07 TL ballasts

I imagine you can USE the 04/05 ballasts, they just don't attach as easily as you'd like. So fill the old holes with silicone and screw new holes into it, or, just use some of that fancy 3M tape to stick them to the underside of the lights.
This isn't as bad as you think it is.

Use a dab of silicone to seal the existing holes, and use some self-tapping screws to mount the ballasts to the housing. It should work just fine and not give you and fogging.

OK, I had a chance to examine this issue firsthand, and I got some pics so everyone can see the difference ahead of time. I'm posting them here because this was the most logical thread that came up in a quick search.
2006 ballasts on a 2004 headlight:
The difference is small, but it prevents the oem screw holes from lining up. For this case, I used some electrical tape to hold the ballasts in place after everything was plugged in, and then sealed it with some hot glue. I did this 'cheap' solution because it can easily be un-done at a later time, but should hold for years, if un-molested. No after pics, but the ballasts are working and everything is fine.
So, 04/05 people wanting 06/07 lights, your ballasts will work, but the tabs will extend further over the holes (unlike above, where they don't go far enough). I suggest using a similar solution to mine as an alternative to purchasing expensive OEM ballasts.

I don't know if this will work, but its just a thought.
How thick are those screw holes? If they are thin enough, you can snip them off and get a strip of sheet metal and 3m tape it to the back of the ballast. Then drill some holes into the ends to match the screw holes. The 3m tape should hold onto the strip and the screws will hold the ballast in place. From the looks of it, you might not even need to snip the current screw holes off. Seems to be enough clearance to just put the strip over it. If it doesn't work, you can just rip off the strip since its only taped on.

just make a custom metal bracket to hold it. seriously it would be that hard to do that.
