I got my TSX about 2-3 weeks ago and since then my neighbours don't look or say "Hi" to me anymore. LOL I find it kind of amusing. It happens everytime we get a nice car. I'm afraid to leave the TSX out in my driveway though. LOL I gotta get out of this shitty street. Did anyone else experience anything like this?

i live in a townhouse complex, and my uncle/aunt are in the building right next to us. my actual next door neighbors i guarantee wouldn't be jealous...they own a 330i, a 350z, a small suv and two bikes (the sporty kind). my uncle's neighbors, who are right next to us as well, they own a G35 and an integra, plus another small suv. i dont think they'd be too jealous..the only thign they'd be jealous about is the fact that it's an 18 year-old who will be driving the TSX (which i STILL don't have yet, but i will get it soon enough hopefully).

and, from my perspective, i sure get jealous every time i see anyone with a TSX on the road.

 

No. My neighbors (different houses) have a Porsche 911, a new Highlander, a Hummer, and a BMW 325i. What I am jealous of is the cute girl that drives the black BMW. She stares at me when I pass by; yet she always has this evil look. I don't know what to make of it yet.

My girlfriend lives in one of the wealthiest communities in Southern California and when I go to visit her, I park the TSX out front and she told me that one time, she overheard her neighbors mumbling about how such a young guy could afford such a nice car. They own three cars including an MB E-class.

 

the car is very nice looking and I love it to pieces, but it really is only a $27k-$30k car, nothing spectacular. My dad's F350 was $40k and its a truck!

People do comment on how nice it is, but I dont think they are jelous.

Seriously, though. I get the "how is this kid able to afford a car so nice?" look all the time. It happens, GILBO, because people think the car costs more than it does (which is a compliment to the looks of the TSX). Not everyone is as car savvy as us to know base and well-optioned prices of every car on the market. Everyone I talk to is surprised that it's well below $30k.

 

I guess my neighbours are pissed because I'm only 24 (still in university) and I'm driving something that they were not able to afford at my age. Imagine how pissed they would be when I graduate from dental school and come back home to visit my folks with a porsche!

the 1st night i had mine, i pull into my driveway and my neighbor was outside watering his lawn.
he asked what it was, looked all at it and shit, comments on what a nice car it is....blah blah blah.

........side tracking.........my neighbor and i are hella cool, his name is jim and he comes over all the time to drink, bbq, watch fights/big games.......plus, he has a s2000 that he let me drive once, a street legal golf cart that we drive to the store drunk sometimes, and *had* a 99 integra as an everyday car. he is a pilot for united airlines, so he is gone alot. he has a daughter that is 18 and her and my g/f are REALLY good friends!! and his wife is a major milf!! and she rolls a range rover! daughter has a 330ci bmw.........anyways.......

3 months after i get my car, he pulls into his driveway with the excact same car as mine!!! I WAS PISSED! cg, 6 speed, navi, quartz......EVERYTHING!! cept, mine was an auto....


now that i got my accord, we were jokeing around on saturday night, while watching jones get ko'd, and he is saying that hes gona get an accord now!! THAT S.O.B.!!

 

it's all about image these days with the car (of course), no one cares that the main point of a car is to get from point a to b instead of walking or riding your bike. you could drive a car that's falling apart with a door missing and you'd still get to your destination.

I don't know if an average new car costs 30k but even if it is true, majority of people where I live drive around in cars that cost less than that.

As you guys already know, there are many people on here who had their TSX keyed. I don't know about you but to me, it's a sign of jealousy.

Jealousy: when someone resents you for having something they don't. <It does not always have to do with dollar value or cost! So, whether you are happily married vs. your neighbor being miserably single, or you drive a Acura TSX, cost is not a basis for anything. Yes, money is what ppl spend their lives chasing and anytime one guy has more than the other, it results in casual envy or resentful jealousy. Driving an Acura says something about you. It doesn't say your rich or too poor to drive BMW. I paid cash for my car, I could have leased a porsche or put money down on a BMW 330Ci. But to me the $$$$$ spent at this time couldn't justify owning those cars. Someday I will pony up for a porsche 911! I appreciate fine automobile regardless of price. Acura TSX is one of the finest automobiles I have ever seen/driven and know own! Presentation is key. Acura looks affluent. Whether you drive a $50k porsche boxter in lime green or a silver acura like me, its all about presentation. I have seen many cars that cost 4 times my Acura that looked like POS's. Having said all this, we should appreciate the fine automobiles we drive regardless of what others think because that's all that matters at the end of the day~

i don't like threads like this, but i can understand why TSX7 originally posted it. it's because the TSX looks really luxurious and expensive on the outside and the inside.

in my area, i see a ton of s classes, 7 series, porsches, etc etc (you get my point) but whenever i see a TSX, which is quite rare, it always attracts my attention and other passengers' attention. it's 'cause it looks f'ing sweet
