Has anyone installed Xenon HID hi-beams in their TSX?

Why? I think the stock hi and low beams are the brightest headlights I've ever had!

The stock hi-beams are far from the brightest I've had. Especially compared to the lo-beams, they seem weak. When traveling on dark hiways where various large wild animals like to jump out into traffic, the high-beams do not give stellar reach. I put Sylvania Silverstar bulbs (great in my Miata) in, but they made little difference over stock.

I had a new, base model, mustang convertible for a few days as a rental. The halogen high beams where like turning on the sun. It was great because I was traveling on Virginia hiways at night and saw more deer in a 2 hour drive than my whole life.

McCulloch HID products suck. They are piss poor cheap and made from Korean parts.

Philips bulbs, Hella ballasts > *

HID's in high beams are not a good idea. HIDs require an ignition time that would be too long when the lights are required to be "flashed." Also, flashing HIDs will destroy the ballast.

Given good reason all manufacturers (cept those using Bi-xenons; which use an solenoid actuated system to reflect the beam across a different angle) equip their cars with HALOGEN high beams.

Are the BMW's not xenon high-beams with their own reflecter and bulb like the TSX?

Maybe you bearly use them. Depending on where you live and drive...

The low beams are great to a point. There is a definate cut-off where they don't light. When you are the only car on a dark hiway, there is alot that you cant see at 55+ mph with only the lows. I find that the highs are not as bright as I'd like for filling in where the lows leave-off.

Maybe my '06 has a different high beam than the 04-05. Are the pre-06's H1s like mine?

Phillips and Hella=Genuine american and German parts.

the other brand uses poor and cheaper quality parts, more susceptible to failure.

You can use an HID to upgrade the high beams. Just try not to flash the highbeams too much as this will wear out the HID's prematurely. I also agree that the highs could be much brighter. They are weaksauce compared to the lows./

damn, if you had higher than the base model, you might regret your TSX purchase! i seriously love the new stangs. RWD just isn't an option for me as a primary car right not though.

as far as the hi beams, i agree, they are very dull compared to the lows. is this so we don't blind god? because the low beams are fantastic. if there was a substitute to just pop in there, i'd love to switch em out. but i'm not making this a major project....

I wish I could just aim the low beams higher when needed, from a dash control, like the Evo.
