Burning Brakes
how that happen? its fixable but is it worth it for the insurance?
if you hopped a curb, there will def be suspension damage, that will skyrocket the cost to fix....let alone the two airbags that deployed

Well I made a right turn onto this road by my house and its 2 lanes going both ways
and the guy infront of me was going to make a U-turn. And i saw it and swerved left hit him with my front right end . Hitting his Left rear end. And Then i jumped over the median and onto the dealerships grass.
And Its weird cause if your coming from the other direction you would make a Left into kroger and thats why theres an open spot in the median. So this guy used that to make a U-turn and it doesnt say no U-turns in the direction we were going But it says no U-turns if you are going the opposite direction?!
So i wasnt expecting a random stop in the middle of the road

hmm.. i don't think its good to fix it up.
since two airbags' out. You went over something, suspension should be damaged. 2 fender's gone, hood, front bumper ($360+ unpainted), 2 headlights ($800 OEM), 2 suspension parts (which i believe over $2k)... and body needs to fix or even pull..
nahh, might be totalled. (since i believe the 04 tsx has only around 10K value?)

I miss my 03 CL-S :(
Just let insurance do its thing. If they total it, great, otherwise, fix it and forget it. If there's suspension damage, sell it right away. Otherwise, it seems pretty minor.

Well i checked the car this morning and it seems there is no frame damage, suspension seems fine too but wont know until i get it checked.
The power steering fluid container broke and is rammed into the pulleys
I really wanna keep the car, If they total it probably going to get another TSX

No one was hurt , just have some air bag burns on my arms.
Talked to the Insurance they are going to tow the car to their place and see if its repairable, but she said its probably totaled.
Im going to pull my strut bar and suspension off it before they come pick it up. Sucks too i just put them on!
A repair would be my best option since the car value is like 10K and i owe like 7k on it.
So if they total it , really sucks for me.

sorry to hear that, but we're glad no one was hurt!
If the rep from the insurance told you over the phone that it might be totalled, there's a big possibility that it will be. Try to salvage whatever after market you have there so at least there's no huge loss on your investment.
But hey, i'm up for getting that repaired, goodluck!!

Sorry to hear about the crash. Glad no one was hurt.
One question, did you buy that car new or used? Those are not 2004 TSX wheels. They are from a 2006-2008 TSX. Did you changed them or did the car come like that?

I think this quote is really indicative of how great the TSX is. I also would not want any other car on the market right. The TSX has durability, dependability, reliability, and it is just so much fun to drive.

You should be able to buy it from the insurance for pretty cheap. If they total it for 10K and you owe 7, then you're left with 3, which might be enough to buy it from them. Then you've got a perfectly good engine and most of the body to sell off.

Its worth around 12-14 thousand man. so the insurance will pay somewhere around 15-16 for it.
I remember we had a 1998 maxima total back in 04. we bought the car for around 13 grand in 2000, and the insurance company paid us 16,500 for it (they kicked us out of the company, we totaled 2 cars both 98 maximas within 2 years. They paid us around 30 thousand over two years.)
So then in 2004, we bought the 2004 tsx, which i drive now, for around 22 thousand used with 20 thousand miles on it. And we basically only paid 6 thousand for it because of the money from the totaled maxima. lmao.
its best to just get it totaled and the let the insurance company pay you what they pay you. you end up making money most of the time if you bought the car for cheap in the beginning. He might even get paid more the 15-16 thousand depending on how much he valued the car at when he first got insurance on it.

Well i paid 17K for it 2 years ago and it has 100k on it now got it at 56k
Nada value is at 11,250 so im thinking 12k-14k isnt possible but who knows
I wrecked my mr2 spyder and got it for 10k they gave me 16k
I dont want them to total it because then i'd have to get another car loan higher than my current 7k payout. And i just bought a second car for the family so im not sure i could get another loan for a good amount to cover another TSX

I don't think the residual value of a REPAIRED TSX will be close to 12 to 14K.
Look at it this way, you were making payments...you're just going to be starting over and getting a new car. Go for a used TL or something that would be in your cost comfort zone. Very sorry this happened to you...I totalled a car a few years back...and I still make mistakes here and there but biggest thing is drive defensively and anticipate and react to stuff like this.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do and as others have said...at least you're ok.
I would highly recommend AGAINST buying back a TSX that was wrecked that badly. No matter what, IMO, it will never drive/be the same.

I doubt that it will have any influence on driving charachteristics... From the pictures it seems that the damage is mostly "cosmetic", at least we usually call it that way in my country =)
